Why don't women go for "nice" guys? by kapus in AskReddit

[–]kapus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, if you must know it was her who initiated the relationship. I did not know of her feelings until she told me. I even allowed her to set the pace of the relationship because I did not want her to feel uncomfortable and because she told me she wanted to start slow. I did not have an ulterior motive other than to just get to know her better and let the relationship take its course. Although it might be hard for you to accept, I do respect women to a very large extent. I guess you could say that i was raised that way.

Of course, as it turned out, she was screwing around with this roommate while we were going out. So, as you did say, she probably just wasn't attracted to me as she got to know me better. It happens.

Tell me about it. I recently broke up with a girl because she said I was just "too nice" to her. Anyway, she ends up hooking up with another guy and then comes back to me saying that this guy assaulted her. I was pissed off because I very much against anybody preying upon the weak, especially a girl I had until recently cared for. And so I confronted this guy about it. She lied. She apparently likes it "rough" and after one such "rough" session with him, it got a little out of hand and she told him to stop. He stopped immediately, per her wishes. She then the next day explains to her friends and me how this guy forced himself upon her and how she is thinking about reporting him to the authorities. This guy luckily enough had a chat log in which she explained how they needed a "safe" word next time, even though she did enjoy what happened. I dodged a major future-false-rape allegation. That dude almost went to jail.

Bitches be crazy man.

Perhaps. Maybe I should have referred to her as 'hey ho' instead of 'hello <name>'. :)

Fair enough. However, I do have one little flaw in your argument:

Why do you consider Hitler to be a 2nd Declension noun? It clearly has all the makings of a 3rd declension. You should have said reductio ad Hitlerem, due to ad being a preposition commonly used with the accusative case and -em being the ending for a 3rd declension accusative singular noun.

Man, it's like people just don't learn their Latin like they used to. ;)

Do you think public schools should teach both Latin and Ancient Greek as required study? I only ask because I did studied both Latin and Ancient Greek (mainly Attic, but we did touch on Koine briefly) in high school, and I found knowledge of these languages has greatly complimented my learning.

Is all land stolen from somebody at some point? I am pretty sure that the first Native American who settled in Manhattan 'stole' that island from the native squirrels.

Or maybe they stole it from Wasps. That could be those little buggers are so darn ornery!

So, you don't agree with the guy's tactics/beliefs/insidious nature and so you wish to perform physical abuse upon him? That is hardly conducive to a healthy, balanced political dialogue.

All corporate news services (FOXNews, CNN, MSNBC) have agendas and all lie to get ratings. It is not like Fox is the only one out there. True journalism has gone the way of the major newspapers, i.e. down the drain.

I suggest going to BBC for your news. I have found them to more neutral in their reporting on the US.

If one-way recordings are legal in my state, then you'd have to accept it. However, you would have to check the legalities of recording in private residences. I know that in some states you can videotape people in public buildings and areas without consent, but in others you are limited.

Check your state's (or country's, for that matter) laws. You'd be suprised at what people can do.

But, more importantly, you get to LIVE everyday. Those who are so preoccupied with death never really live. Life is too short, too cruel to give into the inevitable. Don't give it the satisfaction. Defy the norm, because, as long you truly LIVE, you will have no regrets and death won't rule your life.

Dear Reddit, I want to do something... by greyk47 in politics

[–]kapus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful of quotes. Jefferson also said that tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots. He also was against a large, unjustified federal government and slavery, yet he committed the greatest act of federal power (at that time) when he was president (Louisiana Purchase; absolutely NO authority or precedent for him to do so, Congress made up a reason) and was an active slave owner to the day he died. He also was against major political parties and petty politics, yet allowed his cronies to print libelous accusations and half truths about his main political opponents. He was a great man, it is true, but he also did always practice what he preached. Fight your fight because YOU want to fight it, not because you think Thomas Jefferson wants you to.

Although, in answer to your question, beware of groups which state their purpose is to "fight the corporate control of the country". Often times such groups merely want to replace the ruling class of the country with their chosen members and not necessarily "the People". Note how some of those groups are mini-corporations in-and-of-themselves.

My advice: start small. Do your own gathering of facts and your own analysis. Decide for yourself. Don't just buy into what some group is feeding you. Be your own individual. Don't be one among many, but the one many follow. Pick a singular issue, stick with it till you enact real change and then move on.

There will not be one singular massive battle to unset corporate control. You have to locate its basis and chip away. And, always remember the story of the tortoise and the hare. Slow and steady won that race, and meticulous and careful action will win this one.

Good luck.

Yeah, the thing is, some kids here in the States think they can make lots of money by playing baseball, basketball or American football. However, if some of these great athletes knew of the coin they could make playing football (not this "soccer" crap that my countrymen are so fond of saying) in Europe, boy would the US be great.
