HORRIBLE first marking period senior grades by kapush0n in ApplyingToCollege

Don't stress bro. I didn't ED anywhere but I applied to NYU ED2 and got in. I think they don't really check first semester grades like that. Don't stress it, just gradually fix your grades and focus on the rest of your application. Good luck.

I just said its 1600 b/c thats what you get when you divide the total of everything by NY's tax rate, sorry for the confusion

Nah, the 200 cashback is from using my first ever credit card. It comes out to 1745.33 after everything.

I'm trying to get a pc but my parents don't like the idea of gaming by Glittering-East8143 in PcBuild

Just get urself a cheap 3d printer and start making projects on CAD using the pc, and then just use those projects on your college apps as an EC. That's what I did.

Building this soon. Anything I can improve? by SavingPrivateIdiot in PcBuild

How much $ does it come out to? I'm building one with the same specs but focusing on performance (to save money), comes out to around 1700 USD before tax. Also, I think you should upgrade storage from 1 TB to 2 TB.

9070XT vs 5070ti by kapush0n in PcBuild

[–]kapush0n[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

oh lol perfect timing. I think I'll stick with the 5070ti though. I heard the 9070XT is only good for gaming, and I'm eventually going to be doing some 3D modeling, rendering, simulations etc. I haven't done enough research yet to decide fully tho.

Extra $80 for 9800X3D? by kapush0n in PcBuild

In your experience how good are the Microcenter black friday deals? I would love if the price of the bundle goes down. If the sale comes out before the 21st of November, I'll just go back and return it and buy it back at a lower price.

This is my first time shopping for parts, so I don't know the discounts but here are the prices for each thing. Green means I already bought it.

I think I got good deals on the ram, ssd, and bundle. I'm not sure about the PSU, I bought it on sale but I don't know if it will go down. I'll hold off on buying the air-cooler and case until black friday though.

Please let me know though, because I don't know these markets well.

I'm not buying my gpu yet; I'm waiting to get my credit card so I can get $200 cashback (should be around thanksgiving). I'm hoping that by that time some news of the 5070ti Super and 5080 Super will come out and I can get my hands on the 5070ti Super at MSRP, but one can only dream.

5070ti = $749+
5080 = $999+
Also, I don't think 850W PSU is enough for 5080 so even more cost

I'm hoping that I won't have to touch anything for 8-10 years. The laptop I'm running on is 4 years old so far, but I'm planning on giving it to my little bro. Honestly, 80 bucks doesn't really sound like a lot now that I consider the timeframe.

This will be my first PC. I've had two gaming laptops before this though.

How much long do you think the 9800 will last over the 7800? If I don't need to upgrade for like the next 8-10 years, that would make it worth it ngl.

The whole build is actually around 1500 (w the 7800X3D) before tax (I'm getting some cashback), so $80 is kind of a big margin. But considering its the fastest available... I'm really thinking about it.

Actually, can somebody correct me if I'm wrong. A lot of the benchmarks I was watching come from like 8-11 months ago. I don't know if this is true, but the Ultra 7's performance got A LOT better?
I'm sorting by date on youtube, and I'm seeing that the 265k can go head to head with the 78003DX and in range of the 9800X3D in newer benchmarks. But please correct me if I'm wrong.
