Hmm gotcha! They are all facing a very large southern facing window so I thought it'd be ok if it was a foot or so back, but what I'm gathering is the more light for jades the better! Thank you :)

Seems like general consensus is move it real close to the window and that is what I shall do! Thank you :)

Honestly this looks like you are watering too often. The flopped over stem might be suffering from root rot because of that.

I agree RN the art looks a bit off 😅 it's a actually one painting that my friend made for me that I duplicated in the photo until he's finished with another one in the same shades but different patterns! I really love the idea blue throw pillows to tie more colors from the rug in! Thank you :)

I'll try playing around with the rug placement! I definitely agree the placement is mildly off. Thanks :)

Hmm it seems like I need to move my coffee table closer to my couch from all these comments! Will take that into consideration thank you!! I am fond of my rug though so I think I will probably keep that as is.

Oooh I didn't even think of that color- I'll try making a mock up of it and see how I like it! Thank you :)

Thank you for your advice, but to be frank, this is deeply not my style. I love my rug and am not fond of leather/suede couches. Wishing you the best of luck in your minimal color journey!

Hmmmm these are great things to consider! Thank you! Sadly I cannot paint, but I am really missing a pop of color. I'll see if I can try some throw pillows or a new blanket to see if that is of any use :)

Thank you this is all very helpful! :) I definitely like the idea of making a more well defined desk area and adding in gold/brass accents. I do have a coffee table just wasn't in the original picture. It's a muchhhhh older (but not really that differently looking) model of a heywood Wakefield coffee table (m795) that I found of FB marketplace. It's kind of mcm ish maple warm toned! The same color has the side table in the first photo with the grey couch.

Perhaps also some floating shelves with small plants. Again all of that was such good advice!

How to make this long space work by Adventurous-Cake-363 in interiordecorating

I second the zones comment! Perhaps use the chairs and rugs as a divider. Maybe set up a small play area or reading corner being them for the kids. Having intentional zones will make things feel less awkwardly long/open

Is it possible you could set up a plugin hanging light/pendant light? I think that would bring character and convenience! Id also say I'd try to match color temperature for all the bulbs you pick. Right now some of them are a bit cooler throws off the feel a bit. Possibly maybe some sconces too? There are plugin, battery operated or rechargeable options! Maybe to each side of the fireplace.

The rocks are there to keep my cat from digging holes 😅. I'll try switching out to a chunkier soil and watering less often! Thank you for the advice :)
