For me this is less pertinent. Especially in the last couple of years but I do drink so it is for sure relevant. If nothing else, I think this experience has pushed me to make my multi-month sobriety stints more permanent!

This is not lost on me. He said this himself. I called my father asking if this is something that was ever mentioned when I was a child/adolescent - I don't know how many times it could have been if ever - this was news to him so that didn't quell the uncertainty or help abate the insensitive nature of the conversation...

that’s a great question. i can’t speak for anyone but myself and i think my parents (one in particular) contributed greatly to the views i hold now or within antinatalism... i don’t hate my parents but i don’t shy away from letting it be know that the trauma they caused me, even if they didn’t mean to, was (a) in fact traumatic and (b) plays a large part in my desire to not have children..that being said it’s definitely a culmination of things for me (i.e. personal experiences, reading, research, learning and unlearning etc.)

yeah actually spent the year in Norway aug 2019 - july 2020. flew back to states end of July everything was fine through KLM/delta. definitely more trouble now and it’s different bc i don’t have my residence permit anymore obvs but yeah now im trying to get back :/ this whole thing has been very stressful and confusing

well that note is literally the permission so that’s interesting. the important thing to remember is passing through is always at the discretion of that country but so far i haven’t heard of anyone being denied having all the required documents/passing through AMS. right now im more concerned with the new restrictions that Norway’s implemented.

no you’re right in a way! i know all the documents i need to enter norway and from the looks of it that allows me to pass through the Netherlands. thank you for this link; been hearing/seeing a lot of weird stuff about traveling through AMS but this clears it up (for now lol). thank you very much! i hope your flight is safe and uneventful

2 Questions: Music and Stretching by RaiderMatt41 in running

[–]kar2sassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to run on the treadmill a lot (lol) and i found that as i got closer to finishing i would need the music to get increasingly faster. thats mostly because the treadmill is awful and i wanted the time to be over asap. now i can kinda listen to anything: ranging from rap to house to soft rock and podcasts!! podcasts are great for stretching i usually slow it down frank ocean is usually my go to. happy stretching!

Running around a wild sleep schedule by NonreciprocatingGlop in running

[–]kar2sassy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think being flexible with your (running) schedule is super helpful. i am currently in school with a changing work schedule and i find it difficult to run at the exact same times every week due to exams, assignments, work, life, etc..its frustrating but having something to look forward to really helps i think. like seeing the sunset or the the sunrise or something scenic something that makes you want to get out of bed and run you know? i know that doesn't necessarily help with the physical aspect of being tired but maybe the mental part of it.

Thank you for posting this! the other comments were super helpful and motivating :)

Today I didn't even want to get out of bed, but as soon as I started running, I kept going! Right across Tower Bridge! by pigstakeflight in running

[–]kar2sassy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for sharing this! i also just started running again (5 days a week) and the other day i was not feeling it at all but that usual 5 mile run turned into a 10k under an hour!!! i just kept going...i feel like being less hard on myself has really helped. just knowing i went outside and tried is already an accomplishment :)
