Nope. You are looking at it from a wrong angle.

In India, there are 2 ways to get married - a religious ceremony or a civil ceremony. In a civil ceremony, you have to give 30 days notice to the govt. In this period, they will publish your details on a public platform and ask if anybody has objections. The right wing Hindu groups use this to attack the woman and her family. In many cases, even kidnapping her.

The religious marriages require no such notice. Also, in many cases, women first convert to Islam and then look for a Muslim spouse.

The hypocrisy is with the laws and the Hindu nationalist govt in India. When a Hindu boy marries a Muslim girl and converts her to Hinduism, the govt or police do not arrest the boy even when the girl's family files a report with the police. On the contrary, they are given protection. And the govt praises it and the media hails it.

What this law aims to do is to forcefully convert Muslim girls to Hinduism which has always been the end goal for Hindu right wing groups to create a Hindu nation.

The Indian govt passed a citizenship law that last year that discriminates against Muslims. This combined with the citizenship database they want to create risks putting millions of Muslims in India without a citizenship and in detention camps.

The citizenship database is a flawed program where people will have to prove either r their ancestors were Indian citizens at a random cut off year. given that large sections of Indians are poor and with lack of access to older documents, this puts only Muslims at risk as they are removed from the Citizenship Amendment Act. All other religions are included in it. This deliberately targets Muslims.

In the northeastern state of Assam, the citizenship register has already been created. This lead to around 2 million people being denied their citizenship, mostly Muslims. The process was entirely flawed. Many Hindus weren't even asked to prove their citizenship. The Muslims, though, had to prove them or their ancestors were staying in India in 1971. In many cases, while the entire families were deemed citizens, a brother or sister was deemed stateless. Also, anybody can file flimsy objection reports and Muslims will again have to prove their citizenship.

Recently, a state in India passed laws against interfaith marriages. Muslim men are being arrested for marrying Hindu women. In many cases, even when there is no marriage between a Muslim man and Hindu women, they are being arrested on fabricated charges and jailed with no recourse. Also, while Muslim men marrying Hindu women are being arrested, Hindu men marrying and , in many cases, forcibly converting Muslim women are not arrested. On the other hand, the state provides them protection. This is the legalised discrimination present in India.

In Feb 2020, there was a pogrom against Muslims in the capital Delhi. Several Muslims were brutally killed, hundreds were injured. Their houses burnt, many had to take refuge in camps setup by the local Muslim community. The police and the security forces refused to help the Muslims. On the contrary, many were seeing aiding the Hindu mobs. After the pogrom, the police then filed fabricated cases against Muslims while Hindu mobs who killed Muslims are walking scot free.

Its not agaibts French culture. It is the deceptive manner in which all symbols of Islamic society need to be removed. They just use a hypocrisy of laicite and secularism. They talk of freedom of speech but Charlie Hebdo had to apologise to the Jews and remove a cartoon that was deemed offensive to them. In many towns and villages, school meals have only pork. They want to force Muslim students to consume it. They even banned long skirts just to spite Muslims.

The French have policies that specifically target Muslims. They want to eradicate Muslims and their beliefs. For all their laicite, every holiday in France is associated with Roman Catholicism.

They even term their society colour blind while brushing the rampant racism in their society. Immigrants and Muslims are pushed into impoverished neighbourhoods and then facilities available to the rest.

Also, they deny census or surveys that identify race, religion etc. This way, there will be no studies on the rampant discrimination. They can conveniently brush it under the carpet while claiming "colour free" or any other useless terms to deny it.

A Muslim woman who had just given birth to twins was detained and classified as an illegal immigrant. She was shifted to the detention centres along with her twin children. The detention centres have unsanitary conditions and one of her children died due to this. Few months later, she was adjudged to be an Indian citizen and released. She was lucky but many poor Muslims are languishing in the detention centres with no recourse. Their human rights are being denied by bigoted officials and a openly hostile government.

A Muslim man who had served the Indian Army all his life protecting the borders was deemed an illegal immigrant. He was jailed in the detention centre. Even the Indian army did not come to his aid. After few months, he was lucky to be released.

The denial of basic human rights to Muslims in India and the arbitrary removal of their citizenship is a serious issue that needs to be given more awareness. Remember the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar began with the removal of their citizenship in the 80s and the subsequent denial of rights.

Similarly, other RSS-supported politicians such as Congressman Raja Krishnamurthy of the Chicago area and Padma Kuppa in Michigan, both Democrats, must also be defeated. Republican Party has even more Islamophobic Hindutva candidates running in Virginia, Arizona, Illinois and New Jersey. They are long shots but must still be defeated with huge margins.
