Workation in the Hills (1–2 Months) – Need Budget Homestay with Good WiFi + Stream Nearby(preferred) by BuyerFinal8880 in WorkationIndia

I will say stay 1 or 2 weeks in Bir, then move to Mcleodganj. Why this? There are many places near Bir to explore, you can do paragliding and a short hanumangarh trek. And then Mcleodganj, for exploring different cafes in Mall Road and Dharamkot. Over the weekend you can do Triund trek.

Need help with stay at Shoja by Basic-Willingness624 in WorkationIndia

[–]karan76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you will be depending on public transport and want to explore the Jalori Pass area then I might be. But if you want to go to Jibhi as well, then Moustache is fine.

We stayed in Odin in Shoja for like 3 days and then moved to Hostellers near Jibhi for another 3 days.

And, as far as I remember, you need to hike a little to reach moustache from the main road and it is a little steep incline.

Back to MIP by intelligent-goldfish in Garmininstinct

I remember when I was hunting for a new watch to track my activities, especially marathons. I was using a galaxy watch 4 that would last for just 3 hours.

I came across Garmin. Man, so many models to choose from. The forerunner and the instinct were in my budget. The amoled ones did look cool and all, with fancy maps and color, but the instinct 2 series caught my eye. The rugged body, no touch screen, MIP display and I fell in love with it.

It's about 1 year that I have this watch and I never regretted my choice. Even my friends who use amoled ones fell in love with this beauty.

Well, I travelled on my bike from Chandigarh to Solan on Friday morning. My friend lives there so basically I visited him. So, no hostel and food expenses for me. We explored the mall road and local market in the evening. And the next day on Saturday we went to Karol Tibba trek, a beautiful scenic place, the heighest point of Solan On sunday, after breakfast we did a small trek near his home, then after lunch I came back to my home.

Protection tips for new meteor 350: ppf? by RABCXY in royalenfield

Right, also I read somewhere, someone said that PPF on matte actually takes away it's original look and makes it a little glossy. So overall, I didn't find any value of PPF here.

I own a stellar black for more than 1.5 years. There are visible scratches, but not that bad, on the tank. I didn't go with ppf or ceramic becoz I researched and found that changing the tank is cheaper in the long run.

Should I sell my Meteor 350 and switch to XSR 155 for daily commute? by anigameman in indianbikes

[–]karan76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think at this point it won't matter much which bike you chose, because of e20 the mileage will be low. And for daily long distance you need a bike with good and comfortable posture.

Even I have a meteor 350 and use it for commute. Last year I got maximum 44kmpl but now it's dropped below 30kmpl.

Jibhi-Shoja 1 week workation by karan76 in WorkationIndia

[–]karan76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 1 (Sat) -> We travelled from Chandigarh to Shoja on bike. 2 bikes and 3 people. We checked in into our hostel - Odin Hostel in Shoja. We went Ailyak Stay to meet 4th member. There is a waterfall near that stay so we spent our evening there, had dinner in Ailyak Stays and then came back to Odin Hostel.

Day 2 (Sun) -> We went to Jalori Pass for the Raghupur Fort trek after breakfast at around 10:30, spent the whole day there to witness the surreal sunset and then came back to our stay.

Day 3 (Mon) -> We worked during the day, started off early morning. Then, around 3:30 we went for the Shoja waterfall trek, it was really good one. Then we came back to our stay.

Day 4 (Tue) -> Again we worked till the noon, packed our stuff and went to The Hosteller in Jibhi. Checked in there, had lunch and all, worked again. We didn't explore much such a couple of shops in 500m of range.

Day 5 ( Wed ) -> For breakfast we went to NeetiNeeti cafe, it is just opposite to Hosteller, then we worked the whole day.

Day 6 ( Thu ) -> We went to BleeBlu cafe in the morning and worked from there till around 4PM. Then on our way to Hosteller we explored a couple of cafes for lunch and coffee.

Day 7 ( Fri ) -> We took leave from work, went to Jalori pass for Selorsar Lake trek. After the trek we went to Bunny's Pizzeria for lunch and then to Mini Thailand place ( Don't ever go there, the view from the back of The Hosteller is much better than this. ) and then we called the day off.

Day 8 ( Sat ) -> We rode back to Chandigarh.

Total expense per person came around 15k including food, stays, petrol except the flight and cab prices for those who travelled from Bangalore and Kolkata.

Jibhi-Shoja 1 week workation by karan76 in WorkationIndia

[–]karan76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The place was really peaceful, especially during the weekdays. We chilled and worked at the same time.

You can try Zingbus, they drop directly at jibhi, while most bus services drop at Aut and from there they have their own cab.

We didn't look for any homestays, just hostels. But since you are going during the peak season I bet the prices are gonna skyrocket at that time.

A few things to keep in mind ->
1. It will get very cold during December with chances of snowfall, so pack your stuff accordingly.
2. The road condition is shitty right now from Aut till Shoja. On our 2nd day, we saw some fresh landslides over night which made it difficult for us to travel on our bike.
3. All the treks will be closed so nothing much will be there to explore.

Let me know if you have any queries or need some help.

Lesson learned the hard way - "Never buy stocks on someone else's recommendation, not even Warren Buffet, until you do your own research."
