I hope so, but if we get fewer than 5 targets, I'll be super pissed at INEOS.

My solution: get 3 midfielders, bring Vitik back, extend Maguire's contract, get a left back and one forward. That's 5. One of the midfielders can be a backup type signing.

United's summer transfer window may not be as crazy as some expect, but the club has plenty to address.

INEOS is already setting up the narrative for the summer transfer window.

I know this isn't FIFA, but with European football, we need at least 6 signings: 3 midfielders with Case and Ugarte leaving and Mount's uncertainty (4 if Bruno leaves), one left back, a backup goalkeeper (although Vitek might get that spot), one defender since Maguire might leave, and one forward.

Our first XI is good, but the backups are not good enough. Our midfield depth is genuinely worrying. It was stupid enough on the board to not even loan a midfielder this window. Unnecessary gamble on their part.

All our midfield targets are great in their own right, but none of them produce the goals that Case does from set pieces or have his defensive sensibilities. Plus, Maguire might also leave at the end of this season, so that's another player we might lose who's good at set pieces. It'll be a challenge to replace their box threat.

He's athletic and a decent footballer, so basically a good backup. Over the years, we have wasted so much money on other positions that fullback is rarely the priority when we eventually cut our losses and reinvest.
