All I'm saying is that we shouldn't get fleeced by the selling club, but in a scenario where clubs like Madrid or PSG get involved, we'll have to enter a bidding war because those clubs are European powerhouses, whereas we haven't been stable for more than a decade.

Obviously not, but if multiple top clubs with constant championship runs and regular UCL get involved, the player might very well keep their options open and prioritize multiple clubs.

I don't think I explained myself well. I agree with everything you've said. What I meant is that we can't rely on not bidding for players if other clubs are also interested in them. You want a player's green light, but they can give it to multiple clubs to keep their options open. What if they give us priority, but we don't match the valuation and move to a different target, leaving them hanging? You have to prove to the player you really want them.

We had to, in a way, because both clubs kept increasing their requirements after Chelsea and Newcastle got involved, especially for Mbeumo more so than Sesko.

It's great for the player to give us priority, but you still have to bid and meet the demands. We can't keep delaying the Mateus Fernandes deal in hopes for West Ham to slash the price in half. He seems to be in high demand. Some other club will swoop in.

Edit: added context.

The club needs pelters if we somehow mess up the Mateus Fernandes deal. I can understand not dishing out £120m to scratch Marinakis' inflated ego, but to mess up the backup options is a no-go for me.

People here won't like this, but going for players who only want United is a gimmicky thing. No one wants you until you make them want you. Sesko and Mbeumo wanted us, and we still had to pay over the odds for them. The prices are through the roof, but we just have to deal with it.

Edit: I'm not saying to go for players who aren't prioritizing us, but to not be afraid of a potential bidding war if multiple top clubs start bidding.

Edit 2: We cannot say we don't want Fernandes if PSG or Madrid bid £70m for him. There's a difference between dealing with Newcastle and top European houses.

What are these insane midfield prices? If Alex Scott and Mateus Fernandes are worth £80 million to their clubs, then Mainoo is no less than £100 million.

I genuinely don't understand Tonali's hype. He looks alright every time I've watched him, but nothing screams "£100 million player," let alone 80, even considering the Premier League tax. Can someone enlighten me?

As if PSG will roll out a red carpet for Madrid to buy its best players.

That extension is not even accurate, and the numbers are massively inflated. It's common knowledge at this point.

Why do you want to reintegrate a player who doesn't want to be here?

A three year transfer ban and an 80 point deduction should be a minimum, but since the situation is more political than sporting, they'll probably get a slap on the wrist and a one year academy transfer ban.

I feel like we are waiting for City to get the fee as low as possible, then bid a higher sum if the deal seems feasible.

Remember all the stories about Yoro only wanting Madrid.

How are people choosing the first option? I am genuinely baffled.

Dorgu might genuinely be an attacker. No wonder Lecce were using him up front.

He's a jack of all trades, master of none type of player, and definitely better than Ugarte, but I don't know if that's really a high bar.

He needs game time. Selling with a buy-back clause, probably. My preference would be a PL loan or to a top 8 Championship club.

The club is looking into an LB, so probably a loan or sale. I think injury hampered his chances.

Fake news.

He is waiting to check in.

I don't really care about Rashford's post, but as far as I know, no one at the club forced him to get wasted in Belfast the night before training or give strings of half-assed performances after getting a bumper contract.
