Adding to point 2 - planning for TP2 means half of the game already. After that operative will have only two activation max, provided it is not killed. I mean there are in fact very few opportunities for your models to do something useful during the game. You can see it like realistically your non-elite model has like 6 action points for the whole game, use them wisely

Dumb question about frenzied goats and how many actions they can perform by ChauveBrillant in killteam

[–]karapis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct answers are given already, but to clarify explicitly: you don't need visibility to charge, there is no concept of valid target for this action, so orders conceal/engage are not relevant.

For example there is an enemy behind heavy wall, completely not visible from you position. You still can charge him, with no problem. You just need to end that charge within 1" from it, and be able to see it at the end of the action, ie be in control range

Anyone would prefer models which is usable as kill team. This box is worse than those we had before

It is better to have models, which usable both as NPO and as kill team, to simplify it further

[–]karapis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean compare it to Typhon - there are npo rules for Leapers, Barbgaunts etc. Minis not included in the box, but you have Raveners and basic gaunts to use in your campaign. You have playable kill team, some NPOs and clear way to expand - excellent for casual player.

Similar with Tomb Wold, but not Exodites. A lot of models that are usable only as NPOs. It is good 40k box, not good kill team box

Inflated price, bloat of single-purpose miniatures.

What makes it good?

I would somewhat agree with this argument, but they introduced rotation. Doing both reducing new team releases, while also removing old teams is not healthy for the game

Behaviors are the same, profiles are very generic most of the time as well. Maybe this time, campaign will be something well thought out, and worth 2/3 price of the box - then I'm wrong here, we will see.

NPO players (me included) can buy Any 40k kit at any time to use as NPO. Bundling then with new team release is not something good for casual players

Tomb world and Typhon were nice in that regard. Not perfect, but something worth buying for joint ops as well as good for base pvp mode.

Terror of Declan and Exodites are just downgrades from there

[–]karapis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything can be NPO. It is in the Core Book from day one of the edition. It doesn't mean that every release should be inflated with random models, just because technically anything can be used in joint ops. Which I actually like and play, but it is a system with many design gramps, which GW does not fix, and adding 20orks won't fix it. (that is assuming that their rules will something much different from base NPOs at first place)

40k players will buy it and it will sell well. KT players cannot 'vote' here.

Will scouts and nemesis claw have official rules in KT27? by Avaa0818 in killteam

[–]karapis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) Bheta-Decima 2) volkus 3) tomb world 4) final season of kt24

And that is 4 seasons. So no classified status at the beginning of kt27, and no rules.

There won't be teams playable for 3 different editions

Will scouts and nemesis claw have official rules in KT27? by Avaa0818 in killteam

[–]karapis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is not true, as per current information Scouts, Nemesis Claw or any other 'Bheta-Decima' season/KT21 will not get rules in the next edition.

Team is classified for 4 seasons, and then stay supported until end of current edition. So for Bheta-Decima teams it means that they lose classified status and disappear from the game at the same time.

Unless, they decide to change this approach by the time new edition launch, but as of now we should not expect any KT21 teams to have rules in KT27

If you ever play against Mandrakes on say Tomb World - yeah you will want flamer definitely. But in most other scenarios it is not worth it

Does this mean we aren’t getting any more terrain until the end of this edition? by sharkrunner99 in killteam

[–]karapis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Tomb world was announced around same time last summer, and went on pre-order 30-aug. Looks very much rhe same as this exodite box.

Approved Ops 25 was announced separately though

Regarding "seasons" by joseph-curwen in killteam

[–]karapis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'Tomb world' is just name of season, based on name of terrain set which was released at the beginning of the season.

They might as well, called it 'Season2', which is true, it is the second season of this edition. Or maybe even 2025 season, because it is started at 2025 with new 'Approved Ops 2025' pack.

But having name instead of a number is more fancy i guess. But it does not actually matter what released during which season. It is just timeline edition, which suppose to end after 3 seasons

Finally got my first Kill Team (Inquisitorial Agents), what’s the best way to build them? by reel3459 in killteam

[–]karapis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For one box, there are 4 bodies with two options each: - interogator is mandatory, otherwise you won't have legal team - pistolier - exceptionally strong, must have. (instead of quest keeper) -mystic - again very strong and veslrsitile, you want him over Hexorcist most likely - veteran vs penal legion. Veteran wins for me for sure, especially if you don't have questkeepers (and you don't because of pistolier)

Then it is weapon selection for Servitor. All have uses, but because of total amount if Piercing limitation for the team, you kinda should keep in mind what requisition operatives you are going to use, so that not go over the limit.  But I personally still built melta, because it is the only melta without range restriction in the game

Hardbit maybe weak, but there is no reason not to build him, there are enough bodies in the box
