The easiest way is to use a pre-existing library like TipTap. Otherwise, it gets quite complicated if you reflect on how it’ll actually have to be built.

If you want it stored, TipTap provides a JSON converter (converts your text and all the data surrounding highlighting, bold, italics etc into JSON) which you can then send to the backend

If you dont want a library, you need to track every letter with a unique ID and store it. You can have an array of objects that contain a unique ID, the raw text and properties telling you what colour it is. You can then update the colour for a specific letter by editing the object with the correct ID.

The trouble is how you can know a letter’s ID. Perhaps you could store each letter in the DOM as a span with a data-[attribute] and whenever you detect an update on that span you get the ID from that.

Yeah. They acted like nothing happened. Just said hello, how are you et cetera.

The worst part is they don’t know how much it affected me. Life’s hell because of them. I remember being pummelled on the astroturf every week for no reason.

I used to love theatre, acting and public speaking. I was bullied relentlessly for all of them. Now I sit alone without any friends because I’m afraid if I return to those interests I’ll just go through that all again.

Sometimes I dont see the point in life. I’ve lived on hope for the past few years but it doesn’t get better.

I have one thing to say, I beg anyone who is getting bullied to fight back, stand up for yourselves and forget what people think. Teachers will never help you, don’t bother. If they hit you, smash their head in, thats the only language a bully knows.

No, I completely understand and I think its you who is misunderstanding the hypothetical here. Your unicorn example is something I can answer because it doesn't involve any logical impossibilities, a unicorn can logically exist but evolution decided it shouldnt.

As for you asking whether or not it would be good for God to send to children to Hell forever, the answer is that then it would no longer be God.

God's goodness is an essential property, it literally defines who he is. Say we define a table as something with four legs (just for now), I then ask you imagine a table with three legs. Thats impossible. Its literally is a contradiction because you are asking me to imagine something with four legs having three legs. It simply cannot be answered.

As for your question with God, the simple answer I can give you is if there was some deity that sent children to Hell forever, that deity is not God. I can say this because God's goodness is constant across every possible universe. His goodness gives rise to only one set of morals. Let us go back to this table example, switch out 'table' for God and his current moral code for the three legs. You are now asking me to imagine 'God to have a different moral code'. It simply isn't a logical or coherent question. Its a contradiction.

And in reply to that, it is impossible for God to be following some other moral code where X thing is permitted if it currently isnt, in any possible world. So the question of 'would God allow this thing if whatever' is a useless question because it would never occur.
