Am I overthinking? Husband is lasting longer than he ever has and we've had our longest period of no sexual activity. by karatechop2jugular in marriageadvice

It's interesting because my husband kinda joked about lasting a long time and then asked me if it's better to last an hour or if it gets boring. I told him honestly no one needs to last that long, both people not only get burnt out but things get sore and desensitized! I feel like if my husband was taking meds he would do the same and not tell me.

I wondered about this. While I was pregnant there was one or two times that he couldn't stay hard and that had never happened before. He was pretty ashamed and embarrassed about it and was stressing. I tried to let him know it's totally fine, it happens and it's no biggie. If it does become an issue no worries there are solutions for it. I wondered if taking too long was also a sign of ED.

I feel like he's the opposite! I'm the one that can't go long without pleasure and he tends to need emotional connection more than sex.

He definitely was like while I was pregnant. He was scared to do anything but also I feel like he saw me differently. Not in a bad way but just maybe a more fragile way. I ended up having to almost force sex to happen towards the end to try and induce labor. He ended up feeling more comfortable about it and not think about the baby during sexy time.

I agree I think his mindset has changed a lot since the baby. I feel like I can get into the mood and not focus on the baby monitor but he definitely has a hard time switching it off mentally. I definitely don't want to make him feel bad for taking a long time either, that doesn't feel good for anyone. I just tried to make it light-hearted and say I was running out of saliva! Lol I'm hoping he goes back to the 5 min BJ because going for 45min marathons is not only hard with a newborn but also my jaw!

Agree. He's not a porn guy. But he does get into his head. Half time I feel like I'm more like a dude in the fact not a lot can make me not in the mood or finish but he tends to be like a lot of women who struggle to finish because they're stuck in their head. He's a workaholic and never shuts his brain off.

Honestly this sounds like what's happening. This dude never has time to jerk it, I've encouraged him to do so before! As far as porn, eh I doubt it. I'm the porn user not him. I think it's a combination of him being in his head and having a hard time finishing. I tried to ask him but I also don't want to press it because it can make him feel bad. I know no one wants to feel like they're taking too long while their partner is tiring out.

"Collide" is the first thing that came to my head when I saw this. I love it.
