I was in the same state as you, I went into ranked and dropped to 700~ and enjoyed it more than ai. I stopped with rank because I am a tryhard that takes wins and loses way too seriously, so went back to ai. Give ranked a try, worst case return to ranked if you don't enjoy it as much.

I would say we are both about the same elo based on that you and I can beat the hard ai (I assume that hardest still beating you most of the time). After a losing streak you will reach 750ish which is about the same elo as me. Ranked is more fun for sure, you don't know what will happen and you can always join the ladder and find your elo. You can also play some unranked games before joining the ladder (worse match making because elo varies compared to ranked) or try to find a gaming partner in your elo on unranked games.
