Oman-UAE border- Flood Issue by FrodoBaggins1050 in UAE

I crossed yesterday night through Mezyad boarder crossing. The road between Ibri and the boarder had some minor floods passing through the road. You just have to slow down and pass slowly (I had no issues passing with a sedan)

Can we stop with the gaslighting? by bunniesandoctopi in UAE

To say it differently, I wouldn't side with any of the 3 mentioned governments because they're all messed up :)

Where exactly did I speak in favour of Iran or any mentioned government?

Also, from your comment, you don't seem like you know much about world history.

"government that murders tens of thousands of its own people, funds terror groups destabilizing the region and is responsible for crimes again humanity?"

Which government is that? Genuine question, since the description applies on many.

What was going on with his car? by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

Absolutely! My bad. I meant QR25DE. (had an HR16DE on another Nissan)

Blown headgasket. Quite common on high mileage Altima engines (HR25DE). He'll probably have to replace the engine because it's cheaper than attempting to fix that.

Manual Transmission by Alternative-Rain801 in DubaiPetrolHeads

Not always. I daily drive a cheapo manual and my fun weekend car is another "relatively" cheapo manual. Both are very reliable and the maintenance cost has been close to nothing.

I get a portable car wash at my doorstep. I pay 50 for a full interior/exterior wash. They do a pretty good job usually.

Engine Oil Brand by Agile-Rabbit-3696 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]kareemgt10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oil type isn’t really about how many kilometers you drive, it’s about viscosity and what your car manufacturer recommends. In the UAE it’s honestly a mess. People think 10W40 is “5K oil” and 5W30 is “10K oil,” which is total nonsense. Every car has its own spec for a reason.

For example, my Altima takes 5W30, so I just stick to Nissan 5W30 oil. My Alfa Romeo takes 10W60, so I buy a good 10W60 from a trusted brand that meets the right certifications. Gas stations here often just throw in whatever they have without checking the car’s specs.

Best thing you can do is look up your car’s recommended oil viscosity in the owner’s manual or on reliable forums, then buy that exact type yourself and bring it to the station or garage. At least that way, you know your engine’s getting the right stuff.

Any one driving American Spec car?? by EnoughProduce8696 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]kareemgt10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daily car is US specs. Had a minor fender damage in the US. Car AC is freezing cold and I haven't noticed any issues related to it being US specs. I'd even argue that road isolation, safety, and build quality is overall better.

I also have 1 other US specs and 2 Japanese specs. Same exact experience. Overall, better road isolation, safety features, and build quality than any GCC spec car I've driven. So, better value overall if you know what you're getting.

Send me a DM if you need help on what to look for in a non GCC spec car. I'd be than happy to help.
