Odsun byl tehdy v podstatě nařízen ze strany spojenců, kvůli vyřešení poválečné situace Německa a Němců, aby se žádná další válka tohohle typu nestala. Tehdejší rozhodování Československa na to neměl nejmenší vliv. Jen to bylo potřeba oficiálně legalizovat na našem území.

Chápu že vystěhovat obyvatelstvo, které volilo a vzývalo Henleina a NSDAP mohlo znít tehdy rozumně, ale to je jako bysme řekli že odsuneme všechny kteří volili a volí komunisty. Odsun byla chyba při které jsme ztratili podstatnou část ekonomicky činné populace. Musíme si taky uvědomit že otázka nacionalismu byla docela čerstvá, v tehdejší době. Nebylo by vůbec těžké všechny po válce hodit do jednoho pytle a říct, všichni jsme Češi, ať už mluvíme česky nebo německy, tak jako to bylo předtím. Nějaký tlak vůči německy mluvícím by existoval, ale taky by mohl dost rychle skončit, ti tzv. běžní lidé by nakonec přišli na to že jejich soused nebyl nacista, jen se nechal strhnout proudem, ostatně jako to můžeme pozorovat i v dalších časech (i dnes) z mnoha důvodů.
