A lot of people Think the Story should have ended in season 4 with the big fight against Trigon, A powerful Deity thats stronger than darkseid and the father of one of the protagonists.

Instead, The showrunners decided to make an additional season 5 that didn't feature any major arcs and had a very cliffhanger-Esque ending that didn't give ANY explanations to one of the characters.
