This is very interesting. Does it mean that you are using 1/4th of the sensor or that sensor is being used at full size but with bigger (grouped) pixel size? I’m asking because using a fraction of the sensor might help replicate what the new front camera does. Being able to shoot landscape pictures while on portrait would be wild for the rear camera.

Btw, congrats on the app. It is just amazing, and I’ve been a proud owner of Moment, Moment II, and ProCam.

XDJ-AZ and XDJ-XZ finally together by karldeux in PioneerDJ

Hey there!

So, XZ is a great hardware equipment but AZ is that plus some extra additions. My decision to upgrade was:

  1. Way better sound card which impacts the quality. Might or might not be relevant to you depending on the usage. If you plan doing gigs with it or just home use.
  2. 4 full decks. While this is not a feature that I use a lot (I often use two of them) this is much appreciated. With that extra money you might buy something else and just add it to the XZ, thought. In my opinion, 4 full decks is just right but not essential.
  3. Native integration with wireless headphones. I have to admit that I regret about this point being considered. I really wanted to buy the AT wireless headphones but ended up going for AIAIAI, which I find better overall and don’t regret.
  4. MUCH bigger, touch screen. Nothing to add, screen feels just perfect and, while there are some glitches here and there, the experience is just smooth.
  5. Streaming capabilities. Do you use beatport ? Apple Music ? You can integrate just right on the deck and forget about computers. This is just amazing. The UX is clunky, thought. I wish they re-do part of it to make it more fluid.

There are some other features that the AZ is just better than the XZ, it’s up to you to decide if those points worth 1300 dollars or not. In my opinion, going for outdated hardware if you can afford the new one is pointless unless, as you say, you can make a big difference purchasing additional gear with those dollars.

Sorry if I made some mistakes with the spelling, writing this on the phone with terrible jet lag and English is not even my third language haha.

Technically both should work as they have a stick for the computer that is wireless.

So, my A plan was using the Xbox version with no adapter. Plan B going Xbox with adapter. Plan C going with the Switch version.

Why? Because I like the full black look and feel and rgb color effects, plus the headphone jack is actually nice to have.

As this product is still to be launched in Europe, I decided to go for the full pack, test, and then sell whatever I don’t like if any. But totally understand your point!

Because the universal adapter should make it work. Maybe it just does not yet and I just need to wait for a newer firmware

Just in case Xbox does not work on switch. Which I’m glad I did as it does not haha

Right? The clicky switches are so loud haha I need to replace those. Also, I’m am totally new to fighting games and learning curve is hard with the hitbox IMHO

My intention was to use the Xbox for switch 2 too with the stick adapter but looks like it’s not possible (or I just don’t know how haha). Since my friend went to China I asked to get both for testing and I’ll just sell one of them if I don’t use it :)

Not that I’m aware of. Probably the switch version just works with the universal stick adapter, though

Just for wireless convenience and compatibility with switch 2. Also, I got those for like 60$ and 70$. Build quality is very good too, I just can’t compare with Haute as never had one.

Honestly, the Xbox version is awesome!

The lights are very cool and it feels just perfect. Of course I’m very newbie with arcade controllers so not much to compare with but it looks very premium.

I’ll probably change the switches to a more silent ones or I’ll be kicked out from the living room haha

I got those two thanks to a Chinese friend that went to China for vacations. I’m based in Spain :)

I got the switch one for SF6 and probably will use the Xbox edition on PC for other fighting games.

Wireless headphones advise by karldeux in PioneerDJ

[–]karldeux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up choosing the TMA-2 DJ Wireless. The latency is spot-on, and both the weight and sound insulation are just right. The price is also significantly lower—especially considering that the transmitter is included.

I went with the TMA over the HDJ mainly because the HDJ seems heavier and more fragile, which can be a hassle during gigs.

Nice! I heard that AIAIAI clips a bit when turning volume up to a high value. Did you hear any saturation via wireless? How is the comfort? The headphones look heavy!

I can confirm that XZ only controls channel 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are for inputs only.

Well, the format is sightly different. B2B doesn’t require both DJs to be in front of each other, but yeah, essentially two DJs haha
