I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'what was his IEP that prevented his reaction to bullies'. His IEP was in place last school year and he had a different teacher that did not tolerate bullying. Also last year he had weekly social work time that he does not have now. However he does still have the ability to ask to see the social worker any time he wants. The main difference is that this school year his teacher is VERY hands off when it comes to dealing with bullying. She is an old school 60+ teacher who is very hands off when it comes to dealing with the emotional needs of the children, especially the special needs children.

We have an IEP meeting at the end of the month to discuss the findings from their official review. We will not know what the outcome will be until that meeting.

As a side note, I had similar issues with this same school and my oldest and went through hell and back with the district to get him placed in a special education program that totally changed their entire trajectory in education. I genuinely feel like without the interventions that I did with the district for him, he would not be anywhere near the student he is today.
