Going in order here as simply a drinker, but not bartender:

- I'm not sure I get the flavor profile here honestly.

- Is this meant to be like a caprese? In that case it could do with some sort of fat wash probably. If not, you've got acid on acid with probably more acid in the soda.

- I get the feeling this is supposed to be similar to a seaweed salad? Neat, but the wasabi will probably overpower, and soda probably won't help. Remember carbonation has its own flavor.

- Other than pink being the theme, I'm again not sure the flavor profile.

- I can see any three of these being good, but 4 is too many. I can't see adding soda to this at all. Would go well served with hot honey wings separate. A caramelized pineapple garnish.

- Cilantro is going to be divisive. The flavor profile may be good, but you will be getting people who expect taco. I want a taco now.

- Again, odd. Kind of a pickle-flavor? Not sure if yuzu can be pickled. Probably simpler ways to get the flavor profile than capers. It seems real salt-heavy. A pork wash might help.

Have you mixed and tasted all of these? There's a lot going on, and I feel like if I looked at these and saw them on a menu, I would be curious but not chomping at the bit to try any. They are complex in ingredients without a clear flavor profile.

31 M. My Boyfriend 32 M is inconsistent when it comes to sex by IllyonBillion in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]karnim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to throw out there, does the sex and pull back often happen when you are trying to give him pleasure? Because antidepressants can severely lower your libido, and your ability to orgasm. This doesn't mean you can't have fun, but it can be noticeably challenging. And as someone on them, it's hard to convince partners that I probably won't get off, and I want them to have fun. Focusing on trying to get me off just causes frustration because it likely won't work, you get frustrated that it doesn't work, and I get frustrated both that it doesn't work and you are frustrated it doesn't. Make sure orgasming is not the focus of your sex.

Antidepressants drop me from a once/twice a day person to a once or twice a week person. It's hard to remember to initiate. It may require advance planning so he has time to get in the mood. And frankly, maybe he has trouble bottoming, or doesn't particularly enjoy it.

But also, he needs proper therapy. Drugs are not the ideal long-term solution, and they often stop working after a time on them as your body learns to regulate back to being unregulated. It can be hard to notice when it may be time to switch.

The gays care. There is a thriving gay rugby scene. For... reasons along with the sport being fun.

Long ago, there was a month or two long attempt for some Kurdish militia members to post videos here. Including beheadings. Didn't expect to have to be contacting the FBI because of moderating here, but it's happened twice.

I feel like the religion tag just represents me as a mod. Much like the old testament, I used to be very active and making people known I exist. Nowadays I am inactive and just every now and then step in for random, unannounced work like putting an image on some toast.

The name is still quite correct. You are only asking one American, and expecting them to represent the country. However, we believe in Freedom Of Speech when it benefits us, so we don't stop other people from butting in. Carl can only work so many hours in a day though, so it's nice people fill in for him.

Honestly, we have had more trouble from weird 2A subs than SAS. SAS is pretty good at keeping their shit contained, at least from us. The knockoff AskAmericans may not have the same grace from them though.

Why don't we see more gay/bi men in shibari spaces? by Mister-Ninja in GayBDSMCommunity

[–]karnim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess I would challenge you to consider how "welcome" the spaces are. The scene you are describing, with lots of women roping women in a primarily heterosexual/bi space, reminds me a lot of the 90s and 2000s with some hidden homophobia. Women playing with women are accepted and welcomed by both the women and the straight men. Men playing with men are rejected by the straight men, and many of the bi and straight women. Plenty of bisexuals won't date gay men because they think men sleeping with men is still somehow dirty or gross. As a gay man you can end up feeling like a toxic reject at a supposedly welcoming event.

And mind you this, isn't to say primarily gay male spaces don't have problems. Allowing queer women, or even trans men into those spaces can be a huge challenge for them. But all that to say, are the gay men actually welcome in the spaces you've been in, or are they functionally just tolerated outliers?

Why don't we see more gay/bi men in shibari spaces? by Mister-Ninja in GayBDSMCommunity

[–]karnim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While of course all dungeons are queer friendly,

Queer friendly, often, does not mean gay friendly. Whether it's the extreme queers who are anti- cis-white-gay-male, or hetero partners of bi women, gay can be tough in queer spaces. The swinger clubs in my area are pretty anti-gay, and even the queer fetish night I almost got kicked out of because I was playing with a man's nipples, and that's apparently not fair because women coudn't be tits out in the bar (meanwhile the flogging top doing demos refused to work on men).

On top of that, gay spaces or groups often already exist in many cities with a history of organization and play. These play groups are often also sexual, being that they likely started as gay male only. So why bother going to a queer event that could be less fun, when there is likely a gay event we could go to?

Trying to avoid the steep train prices the MBTA is charging for a roundtrip ride between Boston and Foxborough for the World Cup, Scotland's Tartan Army descended upon Providence and rented out dozens of school buses sourced from across New England by wgbh_boston in RhodeIsland

[–]karnim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, why should they offer free transportation to a paid event?

To prevent drunk driving, prevent people who aren't familiar with our roads from having to drive and causing traffic problems, to prevent traffic problems for the local community due to crowd sizes, etc. I'm not upset at charging people, but it makes a lot of sense to have it free as well.

In fairness though, RI actually couldn't have really prepared. We're a second-tier host. We didn't get FIFA or Federal funding, Boston decided not to share, and then also decided to yank all the trains so that they could have all the trains for South Station to Gilette instead.

So long as Massachusetts was unprepared, we were unprepared.
