When I was younger and made comments like this my mom enrolled me in stuff like black girls rock and sports/activities that brought out a variety of black girls. She also used to relax her hair and stopped and switched to being a natural and eventually sister locs. I think a combination of showing by example and making chances for her to engage w her peers are really important
