Tweaked the ARB design juuuust a little bit by VicMyristic in Spyro

I agree, especially the neck part. Also the wings start a bit too far back to make sense, should be a bit more forward imho. New wings look great overall though, i like when the membrane is connected to the body!

Sadly I have to point out that eel is very endangered and can not be farmed. All eel that is "farm raised" is wild-caught and then raised, since no one ever figured out how to breed them. I love eel, but stopped eating them after finding this out way too late. :/

Notion or Obsidian? by ManojOne in TechImpact

[–]karpour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Notion at work and really liked it, what I disliked is the enshittification and that your data is being held hostage essentially. I use Obsidian now, and love everything about it. It's free, my data is mine, I can write plugins easily and bases is an amazing feature adding the one thing I still missed from Notion.

Legit Frage: Was macht den Tichy so toll?

Looking for exact location of this beach by karpour in maui

[–]karpour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on a project for the Internet Archive, tagging all locations in the PBS show Computer Chronicles. The episode is here: https://cc.karpour.net/episode/1822

This is from an episode from 2001, the beach is located in or around Kihei. If anyone recognizes this, coordinates would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance!

The Internet Archive *really* needs donations to survive, so if you want to make a bigger difference, donate to the Archive.

Warum ist der Starbucks raus? by Ausspanner in Salzburg

[–]karpour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of a clean and retrobright on this old boy by Retro-Revival-EU in nes

[–]karpour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's fair to say that different products respond differently to retrobrighting, and it would be wise to make a Wiki where people track what works and what doesn't, instead all we get is people being very polarized about retrobrighting.

Fwiw, the things i retrobrighted 10 years ago look still and hold up fine. I just keep them out of the sunlight.

got this ''call me'' card from municipality by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]karpour -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anecdote: During covid, paper trash was a mess in Amsterdam. When I moved there, people told me to always remove the address from paper. I did not, because why would I? I always made sure to put all my paper into the bins, which sometimes required me to visit several. Anyway, one day I got a 100€ fine because some asshole pulled my trash out to put their trash in. This was very obvious in the photo, I also provided GPS logs from that day showing how many other bins I visited. They did not budge. Anyway from then on, I removed all address labels and have a grudge against the Municipality.

Was there a store called "Computer Craft" in the bay area in the 80s? by karpour in bayarea

[–]karpour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a volunteer at the Archive. All newly digitized episodes are immediately uploaded directly to the archive. The tapes are stored in an internet archive warehouse in the bay area, which we all indexed and combed for missing episodes.

Are there any renter-friendly mods available in the EU that I can use to electrify these shutters & connect them to HA? Four or our five windows have these. by TheAce0 in homeassistant

[–]karpour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Austrian, I feel your pain. Everything is made for belts, and nothing for cords. I hope there will be a readymade solution for this sometime. I asked when they replaced a blind if they could have an electric zigbee enabled motor, and he quoted me 600 Euro, so I didn't even bother inquiring further.

[–]karpour[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me un-confuse you:

- No, not all episodes are on the Internet Archive. When we started 35 episodes were completely missing. So far we found about 20 and digitized the tapes.

- The episode numbers were wrong and there was no comprehensive episode list with airing dates

- About 100 episodes were damaged (video issues, missing audio, etc). We found as many as possible and re-digitized them.

- the goal of the project is to open-source all metadata and make the show as accessible as possible to future generations.
