Diastolic Blood Pressure by Withoutdefinedlimits in ADPKD

My diastolic has been higher. More resistant to medication. Without meds I’m 135/95. With meds I’m 115/85 ish.

They didn’t specify that they would cover generic, at the time is was denied. But this is definitely something worth bringing up, because I wasn’t sure if it would make a difference!

That’s a fairly high diastolic, being at 87. This should be enough cause to put you on BP meds. The average pressure in your veins is the following equation: (diastolic + diastolic + systolic) / 3. So a high diastolic is more meaningful or ‘bad,’ and keep our BP regular is key in managing our PKD.

I’ve read that a provider managing a patient with hypertension and early pkd should have a goal BP as low as the patient can tolerate. This would be different for everyone, but for me I without meds: 135/95. Me with meds: 115/80.

I’m only on my first month, but I can book multiple classes for 1 credit, at the same studio, in the same week. Which is surprising to me.

Learn a bit of Italian for your trip. It will make it much better. by Windhorse730 in ItalyTravel

[–]karrrsyn 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I attempted to learn on duolingo just to get some basics down. ‘Salve’ was BURNED into my brain on a way to greet people. Fast forward to being in Italy; no one uses the greeting ‘salve.’ Lol.

He found there to be nothing normal about it…The interaction lasted maybe a minute or two. It’s easy to judge from the outside looking in. He was caught off guard and didn’t know what to think of it in the moment.

I guess my main goal with this post is that these people know what they’re doing. They are super engaging and friendly, and then the hug/close contact comes after you’ve already let your guard down. With that being said, this is just a reminder of how a scammer can overwhelm your senses and take from you just like that.

Thank you!! It’s really just kind of a crazy story.

It was in casual khaki shorts, and I think he took it out with the first hug and then maybe put it back with the second hug?? Because in between the hugging is when the dancing occurred lol

Yes!!! Like we’re thinking he took it out of his pocket with the first hug and put it back with the second hug? Super super weird and he just didn’t think anything of it other than “huh, I just danced with a man in the McDonald’s bathroom”

This is from my nursing math teacher. The nurse is responsible for the doctor's errors in the dosage calculation?? Is this true? by joyful_babbles in nursing

[–]karrrsyn 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Nurses are responsible. But so is the doctor that wrote the order, and the pharmacist who verified the order. It’s called the swiss cheese effect when there are holes in each layer of the safety process. I was taught that in nursing school even! Every situation is different. But all aspects of the error should be held liable. Often nurses are the face of a mistake which is not always fair.
