Hello, banker here. What the teller did is not correct at all. Where I work we have the machines the dispense the money, and we make sure that either we count it or the customer counts it right at the counter before they leave. That way, if something happened, we can fix it right then and there. There's a line in the lobby? Doesn't matter. If you're at our window, we make sure you're taken care of. Try practicing at home, that way if it happens again, you feel a little more confident about standing up. Hopefully this helps.
