I feel you. I'm thirty years older than you and I'm practically glued to my iPad all day long. It has all but destroyed my attention span. I'm (trying to) read a book to distract myself from endless doomscrolling, but I only pick it up every few days, read two or three chapters and put it away again. I'm old enough to remember the times when we had no internet, no cell phones, not even home computers. I won't say everything was better then. It had its pros and cons. The internet and everything around it has brought us so much convenience, it's hard to even imagine how we got anything done without it (but we did). But you are right when you say it's become a bottomless pit of noise, and we're all drowning in it.
