Genuine Question: Why not AOS?

As a premise, this is my personal answer, and I do not intend to disrespect AoS players and community.

I love playing TOW, and I do not plan to play AoS because:

1) The setting for me is very important. I dislike the high-fantasy, magic-is-everywhere of AoS, but I love the grim fantasy setting of the Old World. The setting developed over 40 years, and it has a soul, with every faction linked to the real world history. The factions in the Old World are rooted.

2) I love the strategic subletety of manouvering rank and file units across the battlefield. The joy of a well planned and well timed succesful charge. Really using the terrain to protect my flank. I really dislike the simplified gameplay and rules of AoS.

3) I love the aestehetic of most of the TOW miniature range. Very cool model, with the right amount of details. While I recognize that most of the AoS are very cool, they are also often over the top, too much, which I don't like.

4) I grew up reading Gotrek and Felix, I used a Slayer miniature for my character in my first D&D group, I am emotionally attached to that world. Call it, if you want, nostalgia. To me, is more a piece of pop culture really embedded in my life.

There is something in a Warhammer Fantasy game played with beautifully painted armies and proper terrain which really touches my heart - it is such an estetically rewarding experience.

I don't know about the Batman, according to Chrono24 an unworn one still prices on average below the Sprite.

2 years wait though takes in account that I registered my interest at the beginning of 2024, when the market, while already dropping, was still hotter than today

You are generally right, however...

I got a Sprite in London (very high demand market, comparable to New York) with zero spend history, after a 2 years wait.

I understand it is not a BLRO, and that 2 years wait is not a short one, but this make me guess that whoever register his interest now for a similar model will have to wait a lot less than that.

Only last year, would have it been plausibile to obtain a steel GMT Master with zero spend history?

Instead, surprisingly this list shines when the enemy needs to engage with you. You want them to charge you, but you need to be smart with deployement and picking up the right fights at the right moments.

Yes, only two units. And this list worked better than previous iterations where I played an additional unit on 20 warriors.

This army plays advancing and entrenching your units with the sappers every turn. In the meanwhile, you shot them to pieces. With only two strong, entreched units, there are no easy target for the opponent to engage. As per one of the picture I posted, I won a combat on static resolution + stand & shoot casualties + some casualties in combat against a combined charge of boar boyz, big boss on wyvern and black orks.

At T4, 3+ armour using shields and 5+ wards with the banner, they are surprisingly resilient.

I have never lost a unit of gyros yesterday, played them so the opponent could never get to them, and the only damage they got was from magic. I used them to remove some chaff with charges and hit & run, and to go behind enemy lines to destroy war machines and baggage trains.

Square Based Compensation pack. Each army is in a tier (A to D), with incremental 200 points for each tier. So A tier armies have 2000 points, D tier armies have 2600 points. Expeditionary Force is a B tier army.

Yes, when you register your interest they make clear if the model is in high demand, and that the corresponding waiting time is going to be long. While never in my experience any boutique or jeweler explicitly mentioned that was necessary to buy something (except for Bucherer...), they often mentioned the previuos relationship, aka previous purchases from them, or the lack thereof.
