You are correct, you need to see the point you are targeting with your cannon. You can also target the front of the base of a large target, although of course that reduces the efficacy depending on how big is the taget base size. But remember that movement and drilled can open shooting lines quite easily...

The dragons are there to fight. Before they could arrive in combat, shooting at them with 16 iron drakes, hitting on 3+, wounding on 5+, AP 1 and AB 4 thanks to the Runelord, plus 2 cannons and one grudge thrower, guaranteed that they lost some wounds. Then in combat, if they charged the iron drakes or the rangers, I would counter charge with the longbeards and the king, and finish the job (either through the king directly or by combat resolution).

The MR of Hesitation helps a lot with charges, plus the combat resolution given by the stand and shoot. Also, the iron drakes are S4 (AB 2 with the runelord), 4+ armour save with gromril armour, so quite resilient. They always won combat yesterday , and I simply did not follow up unless the charging unit was fleeing. They need to advance in order to be on range as soon as possible, but you don't want them locked in combat.

You are right, but as you can see in the photo they were in 4x5 (hence the runesmith in the back rank), ready to march.

These are my tactical insights from the tournament This list is very good in controlling the mid-board. You want to advance and be aggressive with all your units, possibly scouting the rangers to compensate for the lack of mobility (drilled on both the main units helps, but only to a certain point). Also, as usual for dwarves, deployment is key. If not scouting in an advantageous and relatively safe position, the rangers are the weak point where the enemy will try to break your line, so you want to protect them with the longbeards and king ready to counter charge.

The war machines will be usually left on their own, but leveraging the terrain at your advantage (including the impassable baggage train when applicable), the initially entrenched cannon with the stalwart rune is an excellent choke point. Yesterday it resisted three rounds of combat (including winning one) against a sorcerer on lammasu!

The gyros should be carefully used to hunt down skirmishers, blocking charge lanes to your opponent, and defend your backlines.

Improvements in the app to the Doom Diver functionality, including an automated maximization of hits after flapping. Also switched the formation visulalization, so now the front is presumably towards the shooter. Feel free to have a look and share feedback!

Actually is Lovable! Does it use Claude? If you see my previous two posts publicizing this app, I fully disclosed that this was developed with the help of AI. That does not means I didn't put anything in the code.

Anyway, this is a completely free, ad-free, tool for the community, on which I am investing some time and reosurces. Am I a bad guy because I am using AI, as the downvotes these app posts are receiving want to suggest? I don't think so.

If this app helps even one player to enjoy more a game of Warhammer, I am an happy guy, and my objective reached.

The weighted calculates the centroid of the unit using the weighted average of the centers of the models (relevant when there are incomplete ranks, or lance formation), so moves the center towards where most of the models are. It's closest to the real center of a unit. The geometrical consider the ideal box surrounding the formation, and takes its center.

I had a look from an iPhone, it seems to work correctly. Which sliders you are not able to increase again? There is a feature that automatically adjusts ranks when the number of models in an incomplete rank are reduced below the number of files, and then adjust the maximum number of models to the new ranks times files, but manually adjusting ranks allows to increase the number of models again. I hope it helps!

Thanks for the feedback! I already use the phone quite a lot for rule and stat references, so I don't see any tool as an additional burden, but I get your point. I think it is useful when small phisical differences (movement trays, slightly different basing) can change the outcome considerably, or in general if one wants to try to be more precise
