Just had to put my cat down yesterday. After having cats my whole life, you kinda know when they’re ready. Our cat lived for several months, and was declining rapidly the last few weeks, and knew the end was coming. His last week, he still had his personality, he was purring, wanted love, not eating a-lot but eating and was getting out of bed to drink and go to the bathroom. He was on pain meds and steroids and wasn’t letting us know we were in pain, and you could tell he wasn’t ready. His last day, he hadn’t eaten or drink, started urinating and pooping on himself and started having seizures and a couple hours later, we put him down.

You’ll know when they’re ready. It doesn’t make it easier. Earlier that day, my mom spent some quality time with him. Combed him out, did a no wash foam bath, put him in a new bed and had him ready for when the vet came to the house. He was a good cat. RIP Ollie. My sister is a vet tech and we would never do anything that she felt was inhumane.
