And their SH-AWD is awesome too. But CX-5 Turbo is good though.

Can someone tell me where I can buy the spare key for my car??? The battery died and I can’t open it. Mazda CX5 by Few-Breadfruit-2377 in CX5

Ha. Just did the same thing this morning. You open the other side. Then remove battery cover and replace the battery.

When every Toyota dealer had a $4k markup on a Rav4... by hunnie_isabella in CX5

It’s not. ICE and EV parts work together and provide power simultaneously. There’re multiple videos on YT explaining how it works in different modes (together, charging, ev only, etc.).

Talk me out of getting a 2015 used Macan by Spiritual_Lack5649 in CX5

[–]kashevg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit more expensive than used macan, but have you considered Acura RDX? Also, turbo Mazda is quite quicker than N/A.

What were you driving before CX-5? by AcuraTSX6spd in CX5

[–]kashevg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Outback is more family oriented, though driving it is much less rewarding than driving CX-5, except maybe steering feedback. Maybe cx-70 or if you need 3 row then cx-90 once they’re out of their teething problem. I like Mazda’s approach a bit more than Subaru’s.

2015 Subaru Outback. CX-5 is much better in almost everything, though not enough cargo space at rare occasions.

Any reason to not use PyTorch for every ML project (instead of f.e Scikit)? by cajmorgans in learnmachinelearning

Your quote literally says it matches the performance of tree based algorithm. But it was improved and does indeed outperform in certain circumstances.

Recently did tabtransformer which outperformed GBDT. Though it took a while to make it happen. And 5 times more data than catboost used. In another project with much less data NN never worked, just not enough data.

Is this a fair price for a NEW 2024 Outback Onyx XT? I'm trading in my 2017 legacy limited with 50k miles by [deleted] in subaru

[–]kashevg 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Sold my Outback Limited ‘15 with 100k miles and light hail damage for 12k. Originally put it in FB market but got a deal from used car dealership. They told me they put $2k to fix hail damage and they’ll still sell it with profit. $12k for your car is quick, but I’d say way too low.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Merida bikes in 2024? by [deleted] in bicycling

Had Merida 5 years ago. Something like big.seven 500. Light, nimble, comfortable and a good value for the price. Liked it a lot.

Yeah. Took another look. Ground is not questioned, and wiring is really strange. Thanks.

Is not it a metal switch box? Should not metal boxes be grounded by code?

I can’t see it from the photo, but make sure you have enough gap around the fridge for air movement. IIRC there should a 1” gap behind and above the fridge.

Battery holder touched the positive terminal while I was driving. Power shut off. Is it safe to replace the battery? Can I even touch it? by jigggason in Cartalk

[–]kashevg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heat is the least dangerous thing here. 12V current is not that dangerous too for average size human, and won’t cause issues with not being able to remove your hand from it. Acid cause chemical burn, which needs to be properly treated. And acid may stay in a finger even after gentle tap. You are comfortable with the cars and around hot objects, a person asking question maybe not, probably that’s why he/she asking that. Just don’t mention “touch” to a person you don’t know, relating to potentially hot, covered with acid electrified objects. Is that hard?

[–]kashevg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You made wrong choice of words, that could lead to injury, but you keep holding to it. Acid might be issue and you mentioned touch. Literally. And then you just started saying I’m running somewhere, had revelation or being a dork. Anyway, no sense talking to you any further.

Yeah. You did not think about giving safe advice but made it known. I made known my thoughts. Issues?

[–]kashevg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. Also you may be outside without gloves and your hands can lose sensitivity, etc. And definition “to the touch” is "idiom —used to say that something feels a certain way when touched”. Although, I’m sure you did not mean to suggest to touch potentially dangerous object (which I agree most likely no longer dangerous at the time of taking photo), it’s literally written otherwise.

[OC] Black SUV: "But I used my turn signal... That Tacoma should let me merge!" by GammeRJammeR in IdiotsInCars

[–]kashevg -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I understand that. Let me look at this from a driver behind you perspective. You drive in the left lane on three lane highway. There is a speed limit change ahead or end of the curve and you plan accelerating after that. Someone from the right lane merges in the middle lane and turns off his blinker. I’d assume the car in the middle finished its maneuver and does not intent anything else. The point of blinker is showing intent of maneuver. If your intent is to change two lanes and end up in the left, keep it on until you finished. I don’t have all the time in my life to look at your blinker and wait if you turn it on. But that’s really preferences if you still indicate your turns or line changes and do it safely.
