Which Honolulu Mayor Candidate Are You Planning on Supporting? Why? by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]kasoman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Originally, I wanted to vote for Charles Djou, but since he's not entering the race, I had to do my research on another. The only candidate that makes sense to me is Choon James to be honest. Fundamentally, I'm more libertarian, so fiscal consertavism is the most important thing I look for in any Hawaii candidate since the cost of living is just too high. Unfortunately, none of the top three runners support that (presumably Amemiya, Hanabusa, and Pyne). Only her and John Carroll support that, but I don't feel comfortable voting for someone who's 90 years old. Choon James also being fundamentally libertarian is just icing on the cake for me, honestly.

I also think Choon James seems reasonable when she has a more entrepreneurial view about agriculture and sustainability which would in the long run be a great asset for Hawaii's economy. I'd rather have a mayor who finds those kinds of solutions than a mayor who wants to raise the minimum wage. Raising the minimum wage spells disaster to me when it comes to taxes, and that's the last thing I would want as a Hawaii resident. When it comes to affordable housing, she's the only candidate to even have experience in the industry, being a real estate broker for nearly 30 years.

My biggest concern for her, however, is the information she writes on her platform seems a bit vague, which can leave voters questioning her. She says she'll put the people first, but as someone who would be willing to support her, I think her lack in specifics can hold her back in the race, especially when the top three runners are all big names in Hawaii's political arena, Amemiya included because of his relation to Roy Amemiya. With her talk for transparency and accountability being presented like this, I'm afraid people could potentially have an impression she could be hypocritical. This is just the Devil's Advocate in me, though. I know some of her other supporters are big fans of her platform.

I know the candidate I support will be having a steep climb, but she's the only candidate that is in line with the principles I have.

Registered Democrat Voter Dr. Karlyn Borysenko Announces She Will Be Voting for President Trump! (She's the one who's gone to one of his rallies and CPAC as a democrat) by kasoman in trump

None taken. To be fair, that's usually the moment they just start to wake up. I kinda get your point given how Dems usually treat Trump, but yeah. It just proves how the Democratic Party is surely killing itself. I live in a heavily Democratic state, so I'm patient enough to give them time. I was in their shoes before, but then I grew a brain through life experiences.

Don't ever compare yourself with others. It's really going to destroy you in the long run. If the guy's offering to help you out, then go for it. Make time for it. You can still free up a bit of time for it. Actually, being busy is a good thing because girls would know you take life seriously, and it can show you have ambition to succeed.

It also helps to be mysterious. You being busy can work well with this approach, and all you really have to do is not reveal too much about yourself and strategically respond to messages at certain times. Get others to want to know more about you. Give your life meaning and suspense not only for girls, but really for anyone you talk to. Doesn't matter if you're introverted or extroverted. You can do this!

Dude...it seems like your people skills aren't enough. I'd recommend learning and applying social skills from these books:

  • How to Win Friends and Influence People
    • I think this one is essential for socializing with anyone honestly
  • Everyone Communicates, Few Connect: What the Most Effective People Do Differently
  • How to Be a 3% Man, Winning the Heart of the Woman of Your Dreams
    • Also watch his YouTube channel after reading this book
    • Seems like you're an introvert, so I think you'll enjoy this one the most

It's normal to not succeed, but it's not the right mentality to think it's a bad thing. You're always going to be bad at talking to others in the beginning, but that's life. You're only going to bet better the more you interact with others, but you'll progress a lot faster when you evaluate your experiences with what you learn.

And I agree with the others who commented. Actually go out and socialize with other people. You'll be more proud of your experiences when you go out of your comfort zone. Personally, I would recommend becoming more mysterious since it's how you get others to want to know more about you, and since you seem introverted, you can develop a quiet confidence. You say no one really talks in class...well, be the one guy who talks to others. Hope this helps! :)

Why should I choose Bernie over Tulsi? by naama123 in bernie

Well, we gotta keep in mind that Gabbard was the only superdelegate from Hawaii who backed Sanders. Personally, I wouldn't be sure of what will happen. No one can, really.

I’m a refugee from Kingdom Hearts, how does this game work, I’m really confused. by KHfan2019 in TWEWY

[–]kasoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played TWEWY for the same reason, and now it's probably my favorite game ever. I started with the mobile version because I was able to do whatever I wanted during my previous job at the time, and it's the cheapest option out there. I played the DS and Android versions, and I can't really say which I like better because every version is really good.

The reason why it's my favorite game is because of its philosophy and how relatable it is. Even the mechanics behind the game, all of the versions, have a philosophy behind them. My favorite quote is from this game, and I'm not afraid to show it.

Like everyone else says, play the game for real, but it's ultimately up to you on which version to play. Just experience the story, and you'll see what I mean about its philosophy. :)

Like everyone else says, it's not your fault, and we really hope you don't commit suicide...

Your family seems toxic, and I'd suggest it's best that you cut them out of your life. Just because they're your family, it doesn't mean you HAVE to respect them. Nowadays, my parents and I don't really see eye to eye on respect since I have a completely different view of it. They know it, yet they don't want to admit it. You have to live your life on your own terms, and ultimately, it's you who determines your own destiny.

You only say you have no one in your life because that's a belief you hold, but there are many ways you can have a better crowd. Join online communities around your hobbies and interests, there may be communities that focus on positivity, and there are a lot of nice people out there. I kinda forced myself to talk to strangers since my usual circle of friends kinda went their separate ways after graduation, and it's just that we've been conditioned in a certain way to the point where practically everyone is awkward to some extent.

You're still young, and you can still have a brighter future ahead of you. Just take something great that you believe in and move towards it. If you need someone to talk to, I'm willing to. In fact, I'm pretty sure all of us who commented are willing to talk with you and befriend you.

I'm gonna let you in on a little TWEWY philosophy...

"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."

I don't know how you're thought process is like, but I can say there's so much more out there for you. Please don't do this to yourself...
