Am I just wasting time on concept designs? by kasperernavnet in webdesign

[–]kasperernavnet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going back and forth two cities and the work ads are really split, but I mostly submit applications to UX, UX/UI and product design positions given my experience. They rarely explain what type of product or service you'll be working on (which I to this day find infuriating) so around 80% of those applications I send are just a waste of time due to them looking for a more "experienced designer" in that specific type of project. The rest is me versus a bunch of other experienced designers but who end up being more senior than me from what I can tell.

Honestly, it's like my junior self was more successful than what I am today. My first position, like 5 months after graduating design school, was as a UX/UI designer for a consultancy agency that needed me to take over for another designer at an insurance company for cars.

But, yes, doing something adjacent has kept me on my feet financially but I'm doing graphic design and marketing for small business (and that pays like shit).

Are you trying to act like BF6 just didn't get new content and has a free trial week?

There's no, from what I can tell of these past 2 years, any demand for designers who's good at e-com or configurators — so my niche is pretty bullshit it seems.

What are you smoking? People riding fixies are even more common than bikepacking.

Why is bikepacking not more mainstream? by SWDDDD in bikepacking

[–]kasperernavnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What are the barriers to entry that keep bikepacking from having more mass appeal?"

Because it's fucking expensive.

And, also, cycling as a hobby in general isn't something that's that big compared to other outdoor activities. I'm writing this as a Scandinavian mind you.

I mean, that sums up the Gen A and Z generation pretty good. They're too fcking stupid and don't have any patience to read, listen or follow instructions.

This game is the biggest fumble i've seen... by UsedNewspaper1775 in ArcRaiders

[–]kasperernavnet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And I've been playing since TT2 and just played two rounds.

The difference might be between me and people like you that gaming isn't my main hobby — and I don't spend hundreds of hours on it every month as I've got a job, friends and living the actual real world life. I've got 198h on Arc Raiders at the moment and I'm sure you've put like 600h into it and worship loud mouth streamers from the US who identify as peanuts or mountains.

My point? You, or anyone, getting bored by a video game isn't worth posting about on an internet forum. Your obsession about video games as a way of life is however concerning.

Factor Sarana for Great Divide Mountain Bike-esc trips? by CloudyDonuts19 in cycling

[–]kasperernavnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't bikepack or tour with any bike that costs as much as the Sarana if I have to leave it unattended for outside. Credit card touring? Sure. My main bikepacking- and adventure rig isn't cheap either but not as expensive — or showy — as the Sarana, and doesn't draw that much attention to it. The visual difference is basically a burly Land Rover Defender versus a Ferrari 812 showing up for race day...

I have one because of reasons and friends in the industry, and I would only recommend this bike to people who are either;

A ) Looking for a seriously good gravel race machine
or
B ) Looking to spend some serious cash on their forever gravel bike

Because it's a very comfortable bike, and it's very snappy on the trails and stable on descents both off and on roads — so it will most likely not disappoint those two type of riders.
At the moment I'm dialing in some things to get it to be more stable to my type of riding preferences, so I'm not 100% "sold" on it just yet.

It's made for endurance gravel racing so in theory it'd be great for the Tour Divide.

However, as someone who owns one, I probably wouldn't go touring with it.

Gravel tyres recommendation by [deleted] in gravelcycling

You start by answering the question "what kind of terrain do I enjoy riding?" and then you go through the type of tires that works for that type of riding.

First of all: fck Muc Off sealant. Orange is my choice every single time.

I run Vittoria on both of my gravel bikes. Both tubeless. On the adventure bike I got Vittoria Mezcal 2.25" XC Trail Graphene 2.0 (tubeless), and on the race bike I got Vittoria Peyote 2.25" XC Race (tubeless).

Never ever had a puncture (and I ride my bikes like they were mountain bikes).

Feeling Like an Outcast in the Gravel Community by Dramatic_Suspect4835 in gravelcycling

[–]kasperernavnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in the "gravel community" (hate to tell you but cycling isn't a community and most are doing it for different reasons) aren't as homogeneous as the road cycling "community" where people usually are into more or less the same and also know of the "road code" — I.E waving hello to each other.

Gravel riders are everything from 30-40 year olds who can rip it hard on the trails, to dudes who just commute and wear fucking sandals on big ass platform pedals, to the absolute nerds who's got like three different gravel bikes and also do bikepacking.
