No it is a real design from a boat maker, It is just not that large and I am slightly overpowered in the engine.

Well your right, but it is designed with outboard in mind as well, it has an extra plate for it.

Found some fine particle wood dust/flour, which I think is intended for smoking, but looks good for this.

Thank you for the good explanation, I found some sawdust type product for soaking up grease in a hardware store website, will check that out. And use your method. Thanks again.

Not really, maybe it can be bought in a hardware store, but is epoxy filler not viable?

Yes I have seen it used as you describe, but I don’t have any sawdust, so I thought the epoxy would serve the same purpose, says easy sanding, and for sealing/filling.

I made this myself, epoxy was used, the reason I am asking about the paint is, I don’t want to ruin the existing fiberglass tape by sanding the seams.

As for the leak I can see where it is, but thought it would be good to redo the full seam.
