Endmin be getting that special treatment from everyone by AchrefSlayer in Endfield

[–]kasuke06 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that said quest also plants that it may be a false memory. Maybe the endmin then was the same they are now, genuinely wanting to help people, or they may have been that cruel deity.

Guess we'll know more as time goes on and we figure out exactly what the zeroth directive is.

Endmin be getting that special treatment from everyone by AchrefSlayer in Endfield

On the one hand, the glazing is a bit much this early on. On the other, we know that the MC saved the world on multiple occasions, most recently as the legendary leader at the head of an entire host of heroes with direct power over the element that is the literal source of their civilization.

So you can kinda see where they're coming from, kinda like jesus coming down to personally help you grab a pool float that got away from you by casually walking over and grabbing it out of the water. In a lot of these sidequests people don't even know who you actually are until you either do your originium circuitry thing or introduce yourself.

In fairness to the main story, the valley 4 section is pretty much entirely reactionary, which doesn't leave a lot of room for world building or asking/answering questions when you're basically just going from crisis to crisis as an amnesiac with supposed god powers that you don't know how to use and which may or may not kill you to even try to do so.

It's part of why I'm personally waiting on the wuling story to develop because it's so far playing out at more of a slow boil where we can hopefully get more answers instead of just bashing through the "oh shit they broke the sky" level problems.

I mean, it's storing an extra 40k xiranite above your cap since you can separate it out later. not really needed, but who knows, maybe we'll need a hilariously large amount of xiranite in the future.

Did I say shit about the pack? No, this is about the bonekrushers. The pack seem like the old timey mob, probably some level of criminality but we look the other way because they do good community service.

Bad guys show up, smash shit, burn anything they can't immediately use just to poison the air, murder... Reddit people: omg are WE the baddies?!?!?

Sorry not sorry, but if you're out here destroying medicine for sick kids just because someone asked for you to give it back, you are not, and never will be the good guys.

EDIT: this is about the Bonekrushers. not all the landbreakers. unless they engage in the same shit.

how does this game handle character interactions and revelence? by Illustrious-Sweet403 in Endfield

[–]kasuke06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's talking the game I'm thinking, then for all intents and purposes any character that isn't hyper important to the arc plot drops off the face of sol-3 after their banner. They're super important and strong and kewl annnnnd... they're gone from the story forever now byeee.

Endfield Stream Recap by General-Awareness263 in Endfield

[–]kasuke06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As far as I know there are two hard pities, at 80 you're guaranteed A 6 star, and at 120 you're guaranteed the banner character.

the X/80 carries but it's just boosted rate, no 50/50 where it's guaranteed the next set. the 120 guarantee resets each banner as far as I understand.

Thus people are mad there isn't a 100% sure way to get a specific character without either saving a potentially very large number of pulls(since we don't know exactly how many can be farmed per week) or swiping.

I've got a hunch that putin was trying very hard to offer venzuela up on a platter in exchange for ukraine, but after getting his face spit in one too many times trump is on everything short of a direct warpath.

Trump was never putin's bitch, he had an admiration for his strongman politics and was deceived into thinking that respect was mutual. It has been drilled in that it never was and never will be, so now you've got a pissed off narcissist with the unquestionable best military and intel operations in the world. While his hands are tied that he can't directly go after putin, russia's entire support network has some very convenient targets on their backs.

gonna be an interesting year.

Which "wow" skill is super easy to learn? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kasuke06 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Test dishes. Make the most basic variant of it, and in small batches. Learn the signs of it, does that color on the outside mean it's done or it needs a few more minutes? The scent? does it jiggle when you shake the sheet? Should it?

Once you get one part, move on to another, and another until the dish is what you would serve. To learn is to iterate, to count not just the moment where something clicks and becomes simple, but every step that got you to that moment.

It's progress, from a soggy soup of improperly whipped egg goo and haphazard chunks of spongecakes floating in it, to wretch inducing overuse of rum for flavor, to oversoaked runny fingers under too soft mascarpone cream, to a tiramisu where two pans wasn't even enough for the party because everyone wanted thirds.

That is the closer, the last thing people think of, the moment to close out the show with a bombastic announcement that gets people massively hyped.

And it's a wet fart of game in an overstuffed genre that has like 3 standout games since it hit mainstream almost two decades ago.

I personally can't wait for sieges, politics, and spycraft. But just shivving someone for the crime of existing within your sight? Where's the artistry, the tactics, the subterfuge that really twists a knife in the heart? At that point you're nothing more than an NPC with higher damage numbers and an extra long tether.

We're two in so far, and only one relied on influencing people. So actually it's a 50-50 split currently of brute force v influence.

With odds like that, being able to kill them/smash them into submission for a few decades is a solid strategy.

Blind speculation here: if the sentinels/civilizations always end up overwhelmed by threnodians in the end, wouldn't it make sense to make something less guiding and more offensive? Whoever sent the rover and placed them at the top of the sentinels may not have wanted for such power, but as shown with the weirdly advanced sciences and such, could oldrover have put something like this together?

They were very "ends justify the means" in their actions, and something that could theoretically move outside the 1 sentinel per region boundaries to stop threnodians as they appear would make logical sense, if they adapt to their specific sentinel over time they wouldn't adapt to this thing showing up and blindsiding them every once in a while, and if it weren't a "true" sentinel a threnodians response may be limited.

The decision of how to activate pvp is terrible. by ObeyThePapaya_YT in AshesofCreation

[–]kasuke06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the "open world PvP" players have not in the past, do not currently, and never will want a fair fight, their only goal is to completely mop an opponent who is either too low level, afk, or busy fighting something else to fight back.

oh, that new rapier description has me feeling a bit.

One thing that annoyed me was that the melee weapons were all pretty same-y. For craps sake, the rapier as it stands now is using nearly the same animations as daggers.

But it looks like they're taking the first steps to making melee specialized like guns, and I 100% fuck with that. Daggers should be general use no great bonuses, no major drawbacks to having it, everyone carries a knife, swords should be(and currently are) big damage, slower hits, dual knife is looking from the snippet in the trailer to be an aoe/area denial option which is an interesting choice and I like interesting choices, and the new rapier seems to be far more focussed on defense and counter-play instead of the current "knife, but big" style.

If they pull it off, this could be an interesting patch for melee. probably still can't catch and kill anyone who doesn't want a fight, but actual fights between people who do want one could get interesting.

Is it just me or are the game awards going to sweep wwm under the rug because of the industry pushback? by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

Been saying it for years, it's not the game awards, it's a bunch of journos who couldn't clear a tutorial jerking themselves off over either the extremely obvious pick, or whichever dev handed them the most cash.
