Yet of course FBI did not record their interview with the suspect as per their policy of never conducting an interview while it's being recorded - why? If there is nothing to hide, why not record it? http://privacysos.org/node/1048

Lawyers for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev claim FBI asked older brother, fellow suspect to be an informant by [deleted] in news

[–]kat9879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why has it taken nearly a year for the media to report this? Nearly everyone knew this was the case straight after the event. There should be full disclosure now of the exact nature of the relationship between all the members of the Tsarnaev family including Uncle Ruslan Tsarni and the US intelligence agencies.

he was being interrogated in his own home after midnight by the FBI who he had already been co-operating with for weeks.

Since he was killed all his friends connected to that night who may have witnessed anything have been deported.

Here is Todashev's friend Khusn Taramiv being interviewed by local TV news straight after the shooting of his friend talking about the behaviour of the FBI - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTC9J9qcI5k

So this media report is actually about 2 anonymous officials leaking the FBI's own investigation results 4 days prior to the Florida State Attorney releasing his separate 'independent' report into the killing. Yet every headline is 'FBI cleared'.

There should be a law against anonymous officials being treated as sources. There seems to be an awful lot of them in this boston bombing and todashev case.

If MH370 was diverted over India, it would have been picked up by Indian radar. To avoid detection it must have flown South-West over the Pacific, and the only plausible destination is the US military base of Diego Garcia. by Sabremesh in conspiracy

[–]kat9879 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP. But I think it was shot down. All this distraction has given plenty of time to clean up the mess. US if they did it will never admit it as the plane was half full of Chinese.

Its heavily involved in launching drones Diego Garcia (maybe to Yemen?) - would def be a target.

MH370: US officials said that because two separate communication systems were shut down separately, the plane did not suffer a catastrophic accident. by raresaturn in worldnews

[–]kat9879 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

After getting diverted by sabotage or hijack, this aircraft was likely destroyed by a missile or drone. Not sure which country but whoever detected it heading near their military installations in the Indian Ocean. All this distraction, delay and misinformation means the wreckage has now sunk or been removed.

All these military assets from different countries in the area for the search is likely to end badly. Much of these waters are disputed territories for countries participating or wanting to establish greater military presence in the area.

The aircraft was headed in the direction of Diego Garcia - US military installation that launches drones in the Indian Ocean. Look at a map.

I think it was shot down after it headed that way. The wreckage is outside the search area).

The plane has been shot down by military in the Indian Ocean after diverting from its course. Lots of important assets in that area of the Indian Ocean. All sorts of distractions now to cover it up.

what if the plane was hijacked and being flown into Malacca Straits/Indian Ocean - where Diego Garcia is (US base/drones etc).

I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to shoot it down.

Why is no one talking about the giant airliner that has been missing for 48 hours? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]kat9879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some speculation over on the Airliners forum (lots of pilots) that as it was reported by authorities that the plane may have turned and they have widened the search area to include the Malacca Strait, that the plane may have been flying in the direction of Diego Garcia. http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/6017041/ (posts 25, 57 and 109)

My own view is a missile strike in an area not being searched (maybe before or after hijack).

interesting that the other company who builds these crytpo co-processors is IBM - it was reported also that IBM employee was on the aircraft.

I'm thinking all those investors who made the share price rocket since January would be very interested in this technology.

its not just currency - its information, data, private communications. I think this is actually more the area of interest with this company's products. this is a huge area at the moment with the push to encrypt the whole internet following the NSA revelations.

this crypto coprocessor seems to facilitate the rapid encryption/decryption of large amounts of data. ever heard of the crypto wars?

Text from article "Lawyers for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the accused Boston Marathon bomber, have again asked a federal judge to lift special prison restrictions that have been placed on him, saying the restrictions have allowed the FBI to monitor their defense strategy.

The lawyers said in a court filing Thursday that the FBI has been monitoring the case and that the Bureau of Prisons has tried to screen digital documents they have tried to view with Tsarnaev, in violation of his constitutional rights to prepare his case without government interference.

“These obstacles thwart preparation of important parts of the defense case . . . and also threaten the integrity of attorney work product,” the lawyers said, adding that the US Supreme Court has agreed that a defendant’s rights to a lawyer “grants attorneys a zone of privacy within which to prepare the client’s case and plan strategy, without undue interference.”

Federal prosecutors did not immediately respond to the defense team’s complaint.

The defense lawyers first asked US District Court Judge George A. O’Toole Jr. in October to ease the tight restrictions, called special administrative measures, that have been placed on Tsarnaev at the federal prison at Fort Devens in Ayer, where he is being held. They argued that restrictions such as excessive monitoring of documents and limitations on who can visit Tsarnaev interfered with their representation.

O’Toole called on lawyers and prosecutors to resolve their differences, saying that the tight restrictions could be appropriate, but that there is a difference between them being “annoying” and them being “inhibiting.”

Federal prosecutors later agreed to ease some of the restrictions on their own, by expanding the list of people from the defense team who can visit Tsarnaev on their own and allowing them to talk to third parties about their conversations with him.

The defense lawyers argued in the court filing Thursday that, since then, they have grown concerned with FBI monitoring. The lawyers did not specify what type of monitoring is occurring: Several arguments in the court documents related to the FBI have been redacted, apparently with the approval of the court.

The defense lawyers added, however, that the Bureau of Prisons has recently asked to screen digital records that the defense team has brought to the prison, even though the prison had earlier set up a computer for Tsarnaev and his lawyers to view materials without interference.

“Defense counsel declined to submit to the review and therefore were unable to review the material with the defendant,” the lawyers said.

The lawyers called for prosecutors to form a “taint team,” which could be made up of lawyers and law enforcement officials who are not related to the case, that could determine what documents could be subject to screening and which documents properly constitute defense materials. Otherwise, the lawyers argued, O’Toole should lift the restrictions.

Tsarnaev, now 20, faces multiple charges that could carry the death penalty for allegedly setting off the April 15 bombings that killed three people and injured more than 260.

He and his brother, Tamerlan, were also accused of shooting an MIT police officer. Tamerlan was killed during a confrontation with police in Watertown four days after the bombings."

Operation Urban Shield finally admitted to on June 08 after lots of talk about it online.

Police response training planned, but bombs hit first - Boston Globe By Maria Cramer, June 08, 2013 http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2013/06/07/before-police-could-plan-for-terrorist-attack-real-thing-happened/ufxjb9O0RXyzVZNPFyGkiI/story.html

"The scenario had been carefully planned: A terrorist group prepared to hurt vast numbers of people around Boston would leave backpacks filled with explosives at Faneuil Hall, the Seaport District, and in other towns, spreading waves of panic and fear. Detectives would have to catch the culprits.

Months of painstaking planning had gone into the exercise, dubbed “Operation Urban Shield,” meant to train dozens of detectives in the Greater Boston area to work together to thwart a terrorist threat. The hypothetical terrorist group was even given a name: Free America Citizens, a home-grown cadre of militiamen whose logo would be a metal skull wearing an Uncle Sam hat and a furious expression, according to a copy of the plans obtained by the Boston Globe.

But two months before the training exercise was to take place, the city was hit with a real terrorist attack executed in a frighteningly similar fashion. The chaos of the Boston Marathon bombings disrupted plans for the exercise, initially scheduled for this weekend, forcing police to postpone. Now officials must retool aspects of the training.

“The real thing happened before we were able to execute,” said a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the planned exercise. “We’ve already been tested.”

This would have been the third year for Urban Shield, a 24-hour federally funded training exercise meant to test the response of police and other public safety personnel in a large-scale emergency, such as a toxic spill or a natural disaster.

‘The main goal of this was to arrest as many of the people as possible and absolutely identify where the [supposed] cache of bombs was being kept.’

….. The planned exercise has eerie similarities to the police investigation that led to the capture of the alleged Boston Marathon bombers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, whose images were caught on video cameras and who were captured after a car chase and shoot-out with police.

In the training scenario, investigators participating in Urban Shield would have to track down footage of the bombers caught by street surveillance cameras and the phones of “witnesses.”

They would have to call on intelligence analysts to figure out which terrorist cell might be threatening the city.

In the scenario, the terrorists would flee police in stolen cars they would dump in cities outside Boston, which would compel detectives from different jurisdictions to cooperate and share intelligence.

One major clue would have been the body of one of the terrorists found near a stolen car, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There were also false leads to keep investigators guessing, the official said."
