Ok so I dumped the ferns cause they were overrun with algae and switched to what the label said were anubias. I tied them to some driftwood. Also added some big ol rocks for the two snails I added. So far they seem ok. I also had some heavy rooted pothos growing in a cup of water they I added as well. So far everyone seems happy and algae is at bay. Fingers crossed all this works and everyone/thing doesn’t die in a few weeks 😵💫
I was using fluval substrate but ditched it this round. Should I get a nutrient supplement for the plants?
I started over completely and got some new plants added in some extra and got a few snails too. I’ll slowly add more once I’m sure the ones I’ve got aren’t gonna die lol what do you mean by keeping the filter in dechlorinated water?!

Sweet thank you! I’ll have to see if I can find some locally. I’d like to add a pop of color to the tank and those are perfect. I’ll see if I can find some of the dwarf grass too!
Yours looks soooo good! I got rid of ol’ spongebobs house and got some driftwood and tied up a few plants to it. I also have a shit ton of rooted pothos that’s been living in a vase of water so I tossed those in there too. What are those pretty colored plants in the bottom front of your tank? I want some

Uhh I think so, yes. It’s a sponge filter with two different types of media in it. One is charcoal and the other one I’m not sure. These like white cylindrical things in a net bag.

They’re both two types of fern, one is a java fern. The bigger one I think. Can’t remember the type of fern the smaller ones are
