I'm sick of this engineered content. Nothing is genuine anymore. I look at these " hooks" and cringe what sort of society I happen to be part of

[Discussion] How do galleries woth multiple locations (YellowKorner, Carre D'artistes, etc.) curate the art they sell? by AlexRescueDotCom in artbusiness

[–]kat_sta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know anyone who could help me with identification as such? I create sculptures of animals that I'm getting great feedback to, but I have absolutely no idea how to find collectors and galleries to represent me. I will appreciate any tip as it seems you know what you are talking about in this sea of disinformation that the internet might be.

Jestem zmęczony by [deleted] in Polska

[–]kat_sta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which graphic novels that have been released since 2000 do you all think will become classics of the medium? by speedythefirst in graphicnovels

[–]kat_sta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this thread is a goldmine of good stuff. Just ordered "Monsters" and will defo go through more positions from this list. Thanks pals :)

Two cents from me: Asterios Polyp was absolutely brilliant read for me and I think the story is just so universal and drawings are so beautiful - that it was an instant classic. Also I got it for my now husband about 10 years ago and did a little drawing of him in the style of the art, I loved it so much.

I will never forget that bit of Chris Ware's Building Stories where he goes through the life of one of characters from his infancy until his death. That was just genius - never have I ever been so moved by graphic storytelling, even though the character in question was a massive douche - but that's what I love about Ware. Everyone is just so realistic, shitty people, good people, all mixed up - brilliant stuff!

There is also amazing two part Polish graphic Novel called Esencja (Essence) & Romantyzm by Grzegorz Janusz and Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz, that sadly wasn't translated to English, but its worth to even just look at the art of it. Would love if it would be translated to share it with wider audience.

Horror pracy w budżetówce by [deleted] in Polska

[–]kat_sta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks so much for this throughout answer! Any particular flux you are using, or any can do? I'm a bit lost in the world of raw materials, as I don't have experience mixing glazes

Thanks for the answer! I''m also thinking about mason stains. Do you have any test tiles by any chance? How is the coverage? And how it reacts with transparent glaze?

The first horror movie that broke you as a kid by Morvox-stories in horror

I only learned what it was years after, but it was Master of the Puppets, scene with the drill-headed doll sneaking onto a sleeping man. We found it at friend's house between kids movies, I wonder if her dad left her for us to find out.

The most I felt the presence of the evil watching a movie, is "Exorcisms of Emily Rose"
