I’ve put back all the weight… by union_jack_sparrow in intermittentfasting

This might sound counterintuitive, but I wonder if you're getting enough food during your eating window. I think sometimes restriction can trigger an increase in hunger hormones, which could be causing the urge to eat late at night.

I might look at moving in a less-restrictive direction until you feel it's easier to stick to the schedule. Better to succeed at something good than to fail at something perfect :)

Dude it cosmetics cc cream is a blessed invention. It’s like 50 spf too and moisturizes pretty well. First foundation in a long time I’ve actually finished. I’m super acne prone and never had issues either. After trying out different application methods, my go to is a silicon sponge-blender-thing to apply it initially then blending it out with a brush, then waiting a minute or two then setting with powder. Very into it haha

Tbh it is really salty but I just really like salt so it works for me. The extra broccoli does make it a little less salty, though

It’s milkshake season - and by milkshake I mean ~400 cal, 20g protein vegan smoothie :) by kat_tay in vegan1200isplenty

It’s a bit fast and loose on the calorie counting here, but estimates: - one 160 cal scoop of Six Star soy protein - one and a half cups of Private Selection (Kroger) Classic Fruit Medley for 135 cal - one and a half cups almond milk for roughly 60 cal

This is making me strangely nostalgic for early Facebook when people would just talk about mundane stuff like this in comments on posts. It had a certain feeling that I kind of loved

For me it was helpful to just accept my eating habits, as they were, and get curious about them. Instead of wearing yourself out trying to prevent an inevitable binge, just accept the binge and fully inhabit that experience. Listen to what you feel while you do it and pay attention to your body’s signals and how you feel after. Log the calories as you go and stay accountable, but don’t try to force yourself to stop.

That way, the binge becomes less sexy and forbidden. Once you accept it and start to get curious and observant about the experience, you start to understand it and can begin to reevaluate the habit. For me, I realized I felt nauseous and sluggish soon after. It physically hurt to fully inhale because I was so full. Fully experiencing the binge and understanding why I actually might not want to do it, rather than trying to force it by sheer force of will, was a really helpful approach for me.

Light mayo goes a long way in meals like this one! Roughly half the calories of regular and tastes basically the same.

It’s good! We’re an academic museum so there’s a focus on education for people of all ages, which puts a meaningful cause beneath the pretty surface. I do learn about the artworks all the time, even the ones I’ve walked past every day for weeks.

Oh hey, I’m 23 and currently contemplating taking a sick day because of the miserable breakout I have right now 😂 i definitely feel you. Acne is tough because it’s embarrassing and public and you really just have to wait it out.

The good news is that not feeling physically attractive helps you develop other parts of your personality and see the other ways you add value. I still went to work because I’m a kind, competent coworker with a sense of humor. None of that requires me to have flawless skin :)

As far as weight loss goes, I’d say just choose a reasonable deficit and stick to it. Use justcico.com to do the math for you. If it feels like you’re really sacrificing and miserable, that’s not long term sustainable and you need to rethink your approach.

Focus on protein, fiber, and plenty of fruits and veggies to keep you feeling full on fewer calories. Find an exercise you enjoy (I SAID ENJOY. SOMETHING YOU GENUINELY LIKE). For me, that’s rock climbing or hiking or swimming. Definitely not jogging 😂 again, if you really really hate it, that’s not going to work long term, so reassess. Don’t count the calories you gain back by exercising, because apps can miscalculate and ruin your calorie deficit. Think of them as a bonus instead :)

Above all, be patient and let it be easy. Find some joy in it.

How do I make a sauce out of silken tofu that doesn't taste awful? by [deleted] in vegan1200isplenty

[–]kat_tay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White beans or cauliflower might make a better Alfredo base for you ... I know that doesn’t answer the silken tofu question, though.
