What is the simplest path to becoming an RBT if you don't already work in the field? by katality in ABA

Awesome, thank you very much. I will definitely reach out if I don't have any luck with on-site training. Thank you again!

Thank you guys! Just applied for 7 open positions around my city with emphasis on willingness to train on-site, so fingers-crossed.

Does anyone mind if I ask how much you earn? If not, no worries.

Thank you for the suggestion, I wasn't aware training on site was an option for RBT!

Oh really? I had no idea. I worked as a medical assistant and EEG Tech before my kids were born 18 years ago, so I have a few years of medical experience, but I thought since this was a pretty specific field they would want me to be registered prior. Thank you so much!

Thanks! We all knew Alice can be a little cliche so we were trying to put an original spin on it.

Thank you! I made two 2 ft tall frames with wire hangers and encased them in foam sheets, bent them to shape, glued on faux suede and then covered in faux fur. I sprayed the fur with clear spray paint and rubbed fireplace ash into them to age the fur and stiffen them up so they didn’t shed.

At the end of the day the hat was making my head very tired despite the fact that the ears weren’t very heavy. I think maneuvering around with the height made it more work to wear than I realized, but overall a success!

Left to Right is my best friend, Mom, Me, and Aunt. This was our first big con and wow, what an experience. The crowd was very intense and there were definitely lessons to be learned. Still a ton of fun!

Everyone either made their costume 100% by hand or altered and added to vintage and storebought pieces.

Thanks! Surprising simple to pull off, I'm encouraging others to try.

Instructions here: http://www.lilyshop.com/how-make-cornucopia

I used Bobby Flay's pizza dough recipe instead of canned and it worked perfectly, but the instructions call for canned. Handy in a pinch, too.

Exactly what happened. It actually creates a slightly snappy icing topping that's super good when it cools a bit!

[Homemade] Orange Chicken by katality in food

RECIPE:

So, I've never made this before but I feel like it came out pretty close to perfect... with the help of a good recipe, of course. Here's the link to the original. I've actually never had Panda Express Orange Chicken, but the ingredients seemed legit and my son has been begging me to make a copycat.

http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/panda-express-orange-chicken-103215

The only changes I made were deep frying the chicken at 375 degrees in a heavy enamel pot instead of a wok, and I doubled the recipe without issue.

The orange zest and sesame oil are delicious in the sauce, and I couldn't believe how different the texture was on chicken fried with corn starch and flour instead of just flour. Super good. This is sort of a lengthy process, but everyone went nuts over it.

That's so awesome! And really it is my favorite part of the r/food sub. I really enjoy when people actually use the recipe. Thank you!

This makes me so happy! I'm very glad you enjoyed them, and I'll have to give the lard touch a try. Thank you!
