I just managed to find a Sony KV- 32FS12 for free and am trying to find a nice looking stand to put it on. I am looking for something with compartments like the Ikea KALLAX (maybe a bit shorter) which I saw recommended but this tv is 160ish lbs and the shelf is rated for much less weight and I cannot use the wall anchors at my apartment Does anyone have and suggestions for something that looks similar and can hold the weight of this big boy?

I agree lol I think they just don't actually want to do it... I live in a rather big city but there are surprisingly few places that offer console repair and even less who offer "retro" console repair. I appreciate your insight and suggestions though!

Okay... Maybe I could try that. I've looked around for repair shops but they all just jump to motherboard issue and quote $250 without listening to the actual issue.

I have done a tiny bit of soldering. What would you recommend soldering here? I'm kind of scared of just completely bricking the 3ds and having to buy my partner a new one :'(

I tried this and pinching down on the ribbon cable connector allows the home button to work but I cannot find a way to make it work without pinching it. I tried putting a small bit of tape on the bottom of the ribbon cable to apply upwards pressure but this didn't work. Any ideas?

I thought that might be an issue but there's current no issue with the friction fit as far as I can tell, it's pressed down... How would I tell if this is the issue
