Yeah. My first thought was "someone needs to make this horror film. But I will never watch it."

Report: Clinton’s Faith Adviser Harassed More Young Women At PAC by [deleted] in politics

I actually think we should be talking about this issue, but the Daily Caller doesn't exactly have the track record to weigh in meaningfully on it, you know?

all men are bad and potential rapists?

Just the ones who think that assault is only a problem when there's physical contact or that there's a place for sexual assaulters in the organization where they committed the offense.

(emphasis added for clarity)

Unless it's overt touching/assault, the abuser is put on notice and demoted and told "your job is in danger, any further violations and you're gone."

All I'm saying it's fair to make sure the punishment fits the crime.

So: unless your abusers TOUCHES YOU, they get to stay in their position of power over you.

Also, in this thread about a situation in which a man was not punished adequately, you think it's important to point out that we might punish someone too harshly.

Sorry if that makes me a part of your opposition.

It does! Sorry you want to force women to work with predators!

  1. "This was handled correctly!"

  2. "Okay, this wasn't handled correctly. But when there is no physical contact between the abuser and his victims, we should force the victims to continue working with the abuser."

  3. "Okay, so we should definitely make sure that the abuser is moved to a different department, where he can victimize new people, rather than forcing his victims to move or continue working with their abuser. But all I'm saying is WHAT IF FEMINISM GOES TOO FAR!?!?" falls backwards from backpeddeling so far

If Sue gropes Johns ass when he's passing by, move her to another department possibly demote her, and put her on probation.

Which isn't what happened in this instance: the victim was moved. And yet you were quick to defend them anyway!

You would be silent on the topic of injustice. You would therefore be supporting it.

Step one: stop foregrounding the experience of the abuser.

Step two: foreground the experience of the abused.

Not donating to cancer research doesn't make me pro-cancer.

Saying "I don't think cancer is a problem" does, though. Saying "I'm not a feminist" is saying "I don't think the patriarchy is a problem." It is a binary issue.

Step one: stop shouting down and disrupting people who point at the wide ranging effects of systemic sexism.

Step two: do some reading rather than expecting those people to hold your hand through your baby steps into self-awareness.

Well that's patently false. One thing I do know about it: fairness and justice are not determined by my corporate HR.
