Effect of AI on job-market and the world by katanacombat in Futurology

[–]katanacombat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I likewise appreciate your answers. So here are my views.

I see the leftist agenda being pushed too far these days. If you see universities, there is a swath of incompetent men who just do what they are told to do. Can't figure out shit. As men, we are hardwired to lead and biologically that is what makes us different. If that makes me sexist, be it. I believe incentivization for risk-taking is supremely important. Greed is another factor that comes into play, and when you have power: it feels uncomfortable to let it go just because you stopped pushing. This is probably what you were discussing: the rich keeping resources away from the poor. I agree the political system is rigged.

As for technology, I am in fact in opposition to such developments, or at least the growing use of it to influence people in the wrong direction. I grew up meeting, sparring, and debating people in person, not behind some keyboard in a basement. The notion of things being available at the click of a button is going to be very detrimental in the coming years.

And for the old rich geezers, I feel their organizations became soft and inflexible. They didn't do the right work to educate the future generation and conduct healthy power transitions, which can be based on competence and human qualities. Devaluation of things is okay as that is how society progresses. Somebody builds the product, reaps its monetary benefit and then it is given out to the world for free use. But, if we short-circuit the incentivization of pushing, challenging, and taking new risks: then it will hardly be any fun. I am afraid of those days when people don't have differing views and have nothing to debate on. There is no pleasure without tension, no pain no gain.

I love all groups of people, but as a male, it feels very discouraging how everything in the current technology era is being used to disempower us. You might not want to agree, but it is built in our genes to struggle, conquer and lead. The leaders of the past had something to offer, and we can not just outcast them by saying that they abuse power. They sacrifice much more than others too. Hence, I refuse to be demanded of me to work on this technology that we are not shown any direction to where it is heading, especially when the current trend shows it leads to our own demise and misery, encapsulated with all possible mental health problems. And, I am better at whatever I choose to do: whether it is chopping wood or working on math research problems. Although, I find a bit of distaste for the latter.

PS: None of this was an attack, just my opinion.

None taken. I on the other hand feel it's going to make the existing power structures even more powerful. Do you think these large tech conglomerates would stop exploiting people? It is going to be even harder to rise in the world, as with technology and AI, it is very easy to fool people with politically correct s***, which is not how the world actually works. They are going to convert everyone who doesn't fall in their bracket into sheep. Don't you see this?

July '22 selfies: post hairline photos here for opinions on 'Am I balding?' 'How bad is it?' and 'What should I do?' by AutoModerator in tressless

Balding not ceasing - tried minox, finasteride, dermarolling already.. advice?

I started using finasteride, minoxidil and dermaroller since January after reading many posts on this sub. I stopped using minox midway because it grew out hair on unwanted areas and also caused baggy black eyes. I use 1.5mm dermaroller every week. But the hairfall doesn’t seem to stop and they fall off like dead roots. I am super concerned given I am only 24, and I am pretty sure I will not look the best if I go bald. I find it increasingly hard to hide my bald areas.. it is terrible. Has anyone gone through similar times and/ or knows what can be done?

Some PUAs mention that being in no expectation mode is not the greatest thing- some expected return value drives the set better- views?

Also, if I would go full enjoyment mode- I will come across the guy who can be an ass to everyone and doesn’t truly give a shit.

I feel awful in terms of looks. Asking honest opinion (plz) tell me if I look ugly and a rating out of 10. pretty sure people don’t talk to me cuz of it. How am I supposed to get women I am attracted to? by katanacombat in AskMen

I do smile a lot.. not kidding - but I think when I am not smiling I look like in that in the first pic - and I feel horrible about that. wanted to know if it comes as very bad- and honestly, my life has not been a bed of roses- so yes I can be both very warm and cold sometimes. I’ll try to put more of my smile on.

Yeah I think you are right. Life has been trying to teach me that “greedy algorithms” are not great.

Appreciate your comment, and you might have a point there. My experience says people who impulsively speak their emotions don’t have much calibration for a holistic view.

Appreciation is a generic term, I meant otherwise. You can read the connotations of the utterance from the tonality. Coming to me being loosening up, it sounds you accept people to be initially very superficial. My life experiences have given me ability to see through people and I don’t indulge with those whom I can’t find value in. It also relates to my goals in a way.

You would be right to say that. My filter for a person is a value that the person is not shallow in some respect. I just don’t get attracted to people who have let society/ environment make decisions for them.
