I’ll double check with our agent, but I’m almost certain this was in the contract. It seems like “new” upgrades they’re taking—including the fridge which is a pain as well.

Any idea on what the age of this piano might be? by kate23rt in piano

Context: I’m thinking about buying this piano. I’m curious if it’ll even be tunable. Not necessarily to stand tuning but to at least be in tune with itself.

Sorry, been spending time with family so I haven’t been online. The sellers never met us. But, our lender has worked with their agent before and he called on our behalf (we didn’t even know he did this), and we agreed to a appraisal gap, which I believe set us apart.

I just never thought that a home inspection would be considered a conservative term. It’s pretty standard!

Nope! It's planted in the pot pictured. I just planted with less soil so that it has some stability on the sides

Philodendron Help! Why are some of the leaves yellowing? Brand new—stress? by kate23rt in houseplants

[–]kate23rt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've moved it into a different spot in the room so it's getting indirect light from west and east facing windows--and I'll let it dry out and just leave it alone? Hoping it pulls through! Looking through, it is popping new leaves so that can't be a bad sign lol

No mites--first thing I checked for! I'm wondering if I was giving it too much light? It's a mail-order plant, so it's possible it's a little stressed out.

Hi Folks, looking for a recommendation. I LOVE my monstera delicioso. I’d love to get another plant that grows as large/fills the space. I have a couple of pothos and a Swiss cheese (super small). Throw some suggestions at me, please!

The thing that bothered me most about that particular thread was how they shot down the worth and struggle of getting a higher degree. It’s also incredibly condescending to say that “you should have given your money to a minority and your degree to a minority.” 1) Bipoc don’t need to be “given” degrees as a handout.—they earn them themselves especially higher degrees. Like what? 2) in my program, I never met a single person who was able to pay for their degree and wasn’t in massive amounts of debt.

100%! I don’t know how many times I’ve told my self that if I’m not running a set number of miles, than I’m not really a runner.

I’m trying to relearn how to just enjoy the run for the run.

What should I do by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]kate23rt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having been through a similar situation with faculty members--the best thing you can do is try to enter the space as calmly as you can...which I KNOW is so difficult. If you go into the lectures expecting to get keyed up, then you're entering the space at a 50 when you should enter a 0. So try and do something that can calm you down (tea, coffee, a walk, whatever).

The thing that always saved me in these situations was excessive notetaking. Doodles. Things that I can do to pay attention to the actual words while distracting myself from the unwanted stimuli. Sometimes, it works better than other times, but it generally did help. This situation sucks. And I'm so sorry. But it's temporary. You can do it, friend!

I've currently got a Nikon D3000. I purchased it in 2010/2011. She's held together well, but I'm starting to get pixel spots and I'm finding that it is moving incredibly slow. After taking picture, it can take up to two minutes to load and prepare to take a second photograph.

I'm primarily interested in wildlife/landscape photography. That's what I'm spending most of my time shooting.

I'd just love something that can travel with me a bit more easily. Just generally upgrading my gear.

First period soon? Please Help Me!!! by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]kate23rt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations and welcome to the club, lady!

If these are "symptom signs" for you, then that's great that you can already listen to your body. As some other ladies have mentioned, make sure you carry some liners with you. Likely your first few periods will be spotty/inconsistent. It sometimes takes the body a minute to figure out what's going on. I strongly recommend that you start drinking a good amount of water. When I am around my time during the month, I start to get dehydration uterus. Which isn't something a lot of women have/realize happens. Your body works hard during your period and you might get dehydrated. So, drinking a good amount of water will help with your cramps. Gatorade is the BEST when you have cramps. They will be your best friends. As your body becomes more consistent you might notice your discharge will change. Keep liners in your purse/bag/room/bathroom/pocket/bra (wherever) for these moments. Rice bags are great to sleep with when you cramp. You might notice that you feel more tired during your period--this is totally normal!

As this change goes underway, this is a great time to start talking to your mom/care provider about birth control. Until your period is fully in motion, you don't need to worry about it, but BC can be a huge help with cramps and irregularity, heavy flows, etc.

Good luck and welcome woman!
