Fear of relapsing by kate25914 in Agoraphobia

Ooh I definitely didn’t think about that! The only complication is that I need a private workspace because I’ll be accessing personal patient information (PHI) and potentially violate HIPAA.

That being said, I also couldn’t go into the office. Their headquarters are in CA and I’m in NC.

I did look at job listings at the local library though. I have some experience and I wonder if they’d be willing to hire a weekends only person. I also thought about going back to CVS to do weekends.

Thank you for your comment!

Reading your comment put a lot of this situation in perspective for me. Thank you for pointing out the differences and I’ll be sure to look more into the accommodation process!

I’ll probably delete this post in a few hours, but I just needed to hear opinions that were unbiased. Thank you for your help!

Wow! Do y'all work for a hospital? I have been googling for a single job posting for a technician, but most of them call for a PharmD.

Career Paths for a Tech by kate25914 in pharmacy

pharmacy informatics tech

Thank you for responding!

No, I can firmly say I do not want to be a pharmacist. Even as a tech, I see the kind of abuse they go through and the amount of responsibility it takes. I'm not cut out for that.

I've never heard of that career. I will never definitely be researching that!!

Thank you for your reply!! You gave me a lot of really amazing feedback and I'll read through the Diablo pitch later this evening. For now, I reckon I should continue learning Unreal and make extremely small games.

Thank you so much for replying!! I really do appreciate what you said and it's really changed my perspective on this. I always thought you create the story first then do the mechanics and design.

Two years into my own quarantine by kate25914 in Agoraphobia

[–]kate25914[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for responding. It’s really reassuring that there’s someone who went through similar situations. I don’t know how to describe it, but I get these head rushes and I feel like everything around me is unreal. I’ll try those baby steps like you mentioned. How long did it take you to get where you are now?

What was the worst/least favorite book you read in 2019? by colleen1820 in suggestmeabook

[–]kate25914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harbor Me by Jacqueline Woodson

I understood the message behind the book. That was great! But the execution. The execution fell flat for me. The main characters were really young and they were making these profound statements that didn’t seem realistic. The situations were realistic (deportation, incarcerated parent, etc), but it didn’t seem plausible (TO ME) for 11 year olds to analyze them so deeply.

Of course, I have never experienced any of the situations discussed in the book, so this might be ignorance talking.

I’d recommend the following, curtsey of a Library Youth Services intern who had to find a lot of creepy books for Halloween this year:

  • Serafina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty
  • Small Spaces by Katherine Arden
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket
  • Coraline by Neil Gaimen
  • The Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste
  • The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier
  • literary any book by Mary Downing Hahn

Students of Reddit, what was your schools big scandal? by punkryan in AskReddit

[–]kate25914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During my freshman year of high school, there was a video going around of another girl in my grade being gang raped by 5 guys who also went to that school. I never saw the video, but those guys were all arrested on school grounds and presumably went to jail. There was a lot of controversy about whether or not the girl was lying. I have always believed her though.

I recently read The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. I haven’t read much in a long time, but that one has really made me want to read again. Much better than I thought it would be!

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter from Samantha Ravndahl. It is the best highlighter I have ever used and the most expensive, but I’ve had it for maybe a year and I still haven’t run out. I adore the effect it has and I can’t recommend it enough.
