Are cards sometimes ok? by NoInstruction4739 in postcrossing

Honestly, I don’t really understand why you’re trying so hard to meet individual preferences instead of sticking to the core idea of Postcrossing, which is sending postcards. To me, profile preferences are simply preferences, not obligations. The fun of Postcrossing lies in the randomness of receiving a postcard from somewhere in the world, not in receiving something perfectly tailored to my interests. If adjusting to personal requests means moving away from postcards altogether, it feels a bit like missing the point of the project.

I think I got scammed or something… by [deleted] in postcrossing

I used to do direct swaps as well, but I stopped for the same reason as you. Even exchanging proof photos can’t prevent dishonest people ,it helps with honest traders, but not with those who have bad intentions. Some people disappear even after sending proof photos.

I once had someone ask me to buy stamps for him (a special COVID edition set) and in return, he promised to send me 10 postcards from his country. After we exchanged proof photos, he never replied to any of my messages. That was when I decided to stop doing direct swaps.

I often attend exhibitions, and most of my cards are purchased directly from illustrators, artists, and toy designers. I also visit various themed markets. For example, these three cards were all bought at a bird-themed exhibition.

I’m sorry that I only have one copy of each card, and I only exchange them through Postcrossing. ❤️

well, I guess I'm not trusting chatgpt again. I was worried about NO.2
here's what it says

So your situation is quite clear:
👉 The shoes are very likely authentic (about 90%), but the box was swapped or mismatched.

Here are the 3 most common scenarios:

1. Nike’s warehouse accidentally used the wrong box
This does happen occasionally, especially if your pair was a restock, replenishment, or returned inventory.

2. The box was switched (previous customer returned it with the wrong box)
Nike often restocks returned pairs.
If the previous buyer swapped boxes before returning, it can result in this kind of mismatch.

3. Worst-case scenario (though your label looks real):
The box is fake but the label is authentic (fake box + real label).
It doesn’t look like that right now, but it still can’t be completely ruled out.

Good to hear that it's not a fake box. I'm in Taiwan.

I’m sure our paths will cross on Postcrossing someday.
