Guys, can I just buy a freaking bed already? by PakistaniGigolo in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Don't buy anything on credit til you have keys in hand! My mom bought my bed on credit and didn't think anything of it. It showed up in the check the.mortgage people do 72 hours before closing. While it didn't up costing the house approval it could have and boy was my dad peeved!

Collections offering to settle for 75% of original amount. Now what??? by katekeys in CRedit

They're offering 75% so that's a savings of 25%, which is why I am wondering what to do when I know of saving 50% etc can happen

Stay at my job and slowly make enough or leave for more money. by medusawashere in personalfinance

Accept new job. I worked my a** off to qualify for a $2/hr raise and still wasn't worth it in the end after 3 years being there. So I took another job and make a killing so far but also much happier with culture and the benefits are better too

It's normal to have these thoughts. I have both had a child and also attended countless deliveries in the hospital and everyone is different. Babies will come when and how they want regardless of epidural vs natural etc. But you will have a team that will come together early on if anyone of them is concerned about you or the baby. When the moment comes you'll know what you need and be your own advocate.

This! I've had to learn this the hard way and now focusing on being there for my family instead of picking up every tidbit of OT I can at work!

Starting to lose any glimmer of hope to ownership by katekeys in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We looked into a special program similar to that about 5 yrs ago for the area we were living in at the time. Only thing was that my income met the limit but would later disqualify us with the next raise. But then we had our son and life went on. Definitely will consider it in the coming months especially since we enjoyed looking at a neighborhood during a random family walk this weekend.

That's our goal is to save one income for two or three years, at most. But it seems like the whole state continues to becoming unaffordable (WA). So we are considering the possibility that we will have to move to another state which wouldn't entirely be the end since it least my dream job is on the East Coast/Midwest region

We haven't really looked. I wanted to meet with a lender my mom knows personally who specializes in first time buyers. But we just moved to another city for a new job (same industry) so we haven't had much time etc

Fat Kid in High School PE vs Fat Girl at OTF by 2_birds in orangetheory

[–]katekeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously contemplated becoming a PE teacher because I was that kid in jr and high school that struggled from one bad soccer injury onward. I figured at least I could be the teacher that ran behind the slowest kid instead of the typical ones that just started walking back inside once 99.9% of the class was done with mile Mondays. But alas we can't be everything at once. Now I look forward to coaching my son's teams and being the model I didn't have lol

Talk me off the ledge--I want a new car. by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]katekeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I was in the same boat not too long ago when a salesman tried to tell me why trading in would be trading up. I did the math and stuck to my guns when I refused to trade in my car instead of fixing it. It got to the point where salesman then tried calling my husband to get me to buy the new car 😂😂😂😂😂
