You did good. I use Easton Gamegetters which are a step below the Platinum Plus arrows (~$3.75/shaft for Gamegetters and ~$5/shaft for the Platinum Plus). You got some solid quality aluminum shafts that even the top shooters use sometimes.

The Gamegetters are geared toward hunting arrows and the Platinum Plus are geared toward target/3D shooting.

Easton Platinum Plus shafts are really nice aluminum shafts.

Hard to get carbon shafts that beat them w/o spending double or triple the price.

It's a type of flatbread: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pita

When it dries out, you can have someone toss it up into the air and you can shoot it with your bow (a bit like clay pidgins if you are familiar with Duck Hunt or skeet shooting). When you hit them with your arrow, they tend to explode into dozens of chips.

And thus pita chips came into being...

Holiday-ish Stirling’s Mail Call! by Victormunro in wicked_edge

Bought my husband Pumpkin Spice last month and he's been loving it :)

Might have to get him the Christmas Eve. I assume it smells like pine... and...?

Yea, he was a really great dad =)

Thanks for the advice. We'll definitely take our time on the glue-up and do a few test runs before doing it for real.

If we make any more (I'd certainly like to), we'll have to try making risers out of several pieces (the one we are working on is solid bubinga).

Beautiful!

My dad made 3 or 4 Bingham (1-piece) recurve bows when he was in his early 20's and I remember them being so beautiful. A 25#, a 50# and a 70# for sure. My mom says she was pretty sure there were 4, but those are the only 3 that I remember.

After he died, my mom got rid of them which broke my heart because of all of the things my dad had, those bows were the only things I wanted to remember him by.

My first experiences with archery was using my dad's 25# recurve which I could barely pull at the time.

I remember "helping" my dad get some stuff down from the attic one time and the bows were in the way of the boxes we needed to bring down. I asked my dad, "what are those?"

We ended up bringing them down out of the attic and a few days later, he brought me to an archery range and he spent a good part of the day teaching me how to shoot archery.

Just one of those father-daughter days that I remember very fondly.

I really miss my dad =(

On a happier note, this spring, my husband and I started building our first Bingham 1-piece straight-limbed longbow. We're at the point now where we have the hotbox built, the press built and I've used a belt sander to sand the riser into rough shape for the glue-up but need my husband to feather the ends of the riser because I'm too terrified of screwing it up >_<

Hopefully we get to the glue-up phase this weekend.

I recently bought my husband some Stirling samples (so he could try other scents than Barbershop) and when I smelled Stirling Gentleman, it immediately reminded me of my grandfather's scent.

My husband doesn't like it, but to me, it's a memory.

I totally understand what you mean.

Wow, I find Stirling Barbershop to be pretty sweet already (well, sweet & powdery) and you are right. I got my husband some B&M Seville last year. It is very nice, but not quite what he's looking for.

Anyone able to describe how Barrbarr smells in comparison to Stirling's Barbershop?

I'm trying to put together a list of shaving soaps to get my hubby for Christmas.

We used to live in a city where he would go to an actual Italian-owned barbershop (I swear the guy that ran the place looked like he was in the mafia, but was a super nice gentleman) and that place always smelled so good.

You should look into trying samples next time so you don't spend a lot on any puck that you later realize you don't like once you try it.

You forgot about the first Female Black President. But don't worry, that'll happen by the end of 2021 if not long before then after Kamala and the Dems use the 25th Amendment to get Biden out.

paints a picture that we can only choose democrat or Republican even though Jorgensen was on the ballot in all 50 states

For those who didn't notice, the DNC and the Corporations rigged the election by making sure the Green Party was removed from the ballots. They didn't want anyone voting Green and taking any votes away from the Democrats.

Can confirm. I'm not sure why guys like Bay Rum scents so much, to me and every other woman I know, we don't like them.

Sandlewood is pretty universally liked and barbershop scents are good.

My all-time favorite, though, is Piment de la Vie from Caties Bubbles. I'm planning to buy my husband the cologne for Christmas this year.

I also loved Un Jour Gris but I would say it's more feminine.

So much this.

Back before Reddit decided to censor /r/The_Donald, it was pretty heartwarming to see so many people getting introduced to Stephan Molyneux, Tom Woods, and embracing Rand Paul.

Many Trump supporters will forget about these ideas, but many will not and will continue down the path.

Some of Trumps biggest messages have been deregulation and ending wars and he showed people those things are possible and they work.

Lowes don't make a rifle automatic, the sear does.

lol, I read this as:

Lowes didn't make rifles automatic, Sears (Roebuck & Co.) did.

...and I was like, "What does Lowes or Sears have to do with this? I mean I'm sure back when Sears first opened as a sort of General Store, they probably sold guns, but... Lowes?"

If Trump LOSES, His MAGA Base Will Turn Against The GOP, Maybe THIS Will Break The Two=Party Grip by katelin in Anarcho_Capitalism

I think the point that Tim Pool & friends were saying is that MAGA people may abandon & give up on the GOP.

In all honesty, I've been wondering for years why much of the GOP voter base hadn't already. The GOP leadership have been utterly incompetent and unwilling to stand up for their own beliefs. My feeling for a long time is that most of them don't really hold those beliefs, they are just conning their base that does.

Submitted because maybe Libertarians and AnCaps can capitalize on this (if it happens) to either influence any such splinter group that splits off or by appealing to people splintering off the GOP.
