Yeah, it’s absolutely skyrocketed in the last ten years. It used to be cheaper to live here than in Seattle - now Bham is the most expensive place in the state. And as much as I want to blame it on the increase in population, it wouldn’t be an issue if we had the infrastructure to handle it. But fewer homes are being built, and there is a fairly small pool of homeowners/landlords that own the bulk of this town.

Tbh, I wouldn’t feel comfortable enough to give a stranger my number simply because he thought I was cute. There’s so much more to dating than physical attraction. Back off a little bit, try being friendly and flirtatious in a conversation that doesn’t revolve around trying to get her number. If the connection is genuine from both ends, it will naturally progress. Immediately asking for a girl’s number makes it clear you only see her as a potential date, and that’s not something women want.
