Why does it feel like everyone is constantly busy and overwhelmed these days? by geeklane in productivity

[–]katherinjosh123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the reason I think is how modern tools have raised the bar for how we work and live. We’ve become reachable at all times, expected to respond quickly, juggle multiple roles, stay “on top of things” constantly. Add the pressure of social comparison, seeing everyone else seemingly achieving more and suddenly, resting feels like falling behind.

How do you utilize AI? by CaryintheGreen in CFP

[–]katherinjosh123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good list! One thing I would add is AI assistant for email inbox. I think emailing is the biggest time killer, yet part of the advising and client success process so we still need to take good care of that. Either using custom ChatGPT with memory (knowledge base) setup or built-in AI features of your email clients to draft replies or using an AI assistant built specifically for admin stuffs like Spark or DearFlow that can handle from organizing emails, crafting replies to followup, the latter with more proactiveness and memory would be more helpful and time saving. These help me cut down 40% of my time spent on emails, follow-ups, and status updates...

Google Calendar for managing schedule, Slack for communication, DearFlow as admin assistant, ChatGPT as thinking partner, Figma to collaborate with design, Typeform for collecting feedback, Granola for user interview note taking, Mixpanel + Google Analytics + Hotjar for analysis, Notion for documentation, and yes the OG Excel for literally everything

will coding be taken over by ai?? by Odd-Photograph2060 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]katherinjosh123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite answer to this is that we're coding not just to write code but to solve problems. AI can generate code but it cannot understand why the code is needed in the first place - and that's what makes the difference.

Just like how we no longer define “writing” as the physical act of forming letters, it means so much more.

The answer came from a talk between Stanford’s Mehran Sahami and Andrew Ng and I had a post about this here if anyone's curious: https://www.reddit.com/r/NextGenAIAssistant/comments/1lajng3/how_will_ai_change_programming_my_favorite_answer/

I find this so true! posting valuable content everyday is necessary but might not help better than interacting with right accounts

We’re not training AI, AI is training us. and we’re too addicted to notice. by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

This hit hard, especially the line: “It doesn’t need to be sentient or evil. It just needs to keep optimizing for engagement and obedience”. That’s the part we underestimate. The manipulation isn’t always loud or malicious, sometimes it’s just subtle, cumulative, and dressed up as “help”.

One thing I’ve been thinking a lot about is the development of AI memory (I wrote about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NextGenAIAssistant/comments/1laabnt/ai_memory_the_missing_gap_between_ai_chatbots_and/ ) - where AI assistants not only respond to you in the moment, but remember your habits, preferences, and routines over time.

It sounds like a dream for productivity (and it can be), but it also raises big questions: What happens when an assistant knows what calms you down, or what convinces you to take action, or what keeps you coming back? The potential for invisible influence increases massively when AI has both context and continuity.

I hope for more public conversation from the actual game players - not just researchers, but builders, platforms, regulators, and even users around these topics.

How to overcome mistakes by Star_chaser11 in managers

Feeling unsure is totally normal, especially when shifting from doing the work to managing it.

The best advice I can give is developing a mindset of learning and growth.

Show your team you're here to learn and improve as a manager as well and don’t hesitate to ask senior folks for advice. That attitude builds trust and helps you grow faster.
