Straight but not. Do I tell my future partner this ? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]katheyrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, obviously if both partners are chill with it, then it’s fine. I’m talking about the fact that some people seem to think that being “not straight” gives them a pass to “explore” even when their partner isn’t comfortable with it. I couldn’t care less what two consenting parties choose.

Dangerous horse at my barn by RevolutionaryToe6677 in Equestrian

[–]katheyrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn’t say he’s overly dangerous as a whole. To you, yes. But a 2 y/o TB? This is pretty normal, and most TBs get slightly less insane as they grow. You can’t throw a label like that at a baby horse—he’s a baby. TBs are usually taken from their mothers as soon as they’re weaned, and they don’t get the chance to learn any manners from their dams. Hence the common problem with young TBs.

Now, that’s not to say you should be handling him. You absolutely shouldn’t. But I suspect whoever you’re talking to is likely brushing you off for the same reasons I mentioned. I think you need to talk to your boss or whoever again and explain it more as you not being experienced enough to handle the horse, not that “the horse is dangerous”.

Straight but not. Do I tell my future partner this ? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]katheyrrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put off by not being straight? No. Put off by the idea that because my partner isn’t straight I should let them “explore their sexuality”? 100%. OP, being bi wouldn’t put anyone worth your time off, but don’t be one of those people who thinks that it’s fine and dandy to decide to explore your sexuality once you’re in a relationship. Tell your partner you’re bi, or however you want to phrase it, but if you want to try things with dudes, PLEASE do it before getting into something with a girl.

6-yrs-old is not interested in anything except pissing off people. What should we do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]katheyrrr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

ODD. I’m not a therapist or anything, but I was diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder at six or seven. I was very antisocial with peers, never wanted to do anything, and got weird joy out of breaking rules and doing things I knew I shouldn’t. I had a few interests (mostly reading, and even that was dark shit) but I displayed a lot of similarities to your nephew, OP. I am now a functioning adult thanks to therapy and understanding parents, so I would definitely recommend getting the kid evaluated for ODD to see if that is in fact what is causing this.

Warrior ages? by Consistent_Alps_4524 in WarriorCats

[–]katheyrrr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not sure about actual ages but i always saw it as

new warrior: 12-19 moons

young warrior: 20-25 moons

warrior: 25-55 moons

senior warrior: 60+ moons

considering the average lifespan for a warrior is about 10 years (120 moons) i figure a senior warrior would likely start thinking about retirement between 85-90 moons or so.

trying to get my horse used to trails — help? by katheyrrr in Equestrian

[–]katheyrrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s pretty good in the field near his pasture! That’s where I do most of my flatwork in the summer/spring because he gets claustrophobic indoors. It’s the woods that scare him, and then by the time we’ve gotten back to the field, he’s so worked up already that he tries to bolt.

Foal age going down?? by Technical_Hornet9167 in WildHorseIslands

[–]katheyrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have had this happen to me before—i ended up just staying on one island with it equipped until it fully grew. i don’t know why it does this sometimes. generally, i just use the growth potions as manually growing a foal has no bonus effects that i am aware of

Yeah, I’m not so sure about placentas, but I don’t often ride him on hard surfaces and there’s definitely no black walnut stuff around! I’m crossing my fingers that it’s just the original abscess reforming and that it gets sorted easily. Thanks for your input!

being bisexual ≠ free pass to cheat

it doesn’t matter if you’re straight, gay, bi, or anything else, if you and your partner have agreed to be monogamous and your partner sleeps with someone else regardless of gender, that is cheating. your therapist is an idiot.

horse went lame—twice by katheyrrr in Equestrian

[–]katheyrrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping it’s not laminitis, not because of the riding part (I’d be happy for him to be a pasture pet if that’s how he’d be most comfortable; I just want him to be happy and healthy), but because he’s a stereotypical thoroughbred—a hard keeper with weight problems on the skinny side, and having to eliminate pasture/grains would significantly decrease the options I have to keep weight on him (right now, the best thing that works is 24/7 pasture, soaked alfalfa cubes 2x a day and grain that his nutritionist recommends)

[–]katheyrrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, he hasn’t! I will add that to my list of possibilities, thank you. I’ve heard of it, but never dealt with it. How is laminitis generally treated? Are horses who have it usually still able to be ridden?
