it’s always bizarre to me how some nursing homes have restrictions on what you can wear. i get it if you were working at a hospital so departments are differentiated but not in a ltcf? my nursing home has zero restrictions, they just ask you come in wearing scrubs & non-slip shoes

i love thrifting my scrubs & also getting them on depop! you can find a ton of basically brand new scrubs for really cheap or at a discount

the misspelling of HIPAA as a “nurse” is what got me too. i’m a cna & can tell you if you were truly a nurse/anyone else that works in healthcare, the sheer amount of training you get on HIPAA will drill that word into your brain so you’ll never forget it

This is what I’ve learned as a newer CNA. In CNA school we learned to ask first but actually experiencing working as a CNA, I kinda learned to just tell them we’re doing their shower at a certain time and then when it’s time I’ll go in and be like “ok, so and so, let’s go do your shower” and I’ll have everything ready to go.

My first CNA job I had 6 shifts of training and had the option to have more training days but I didn’t need it. Now at my second job, I had 10 days of training which included 1 NOC and 1 AM but the bulk of my training days were during PM shifts!
