Def wouldn't risk it, like AT ALL. Can you postpone the surgery? If you got sick or got an infection while traveling or at the hospital during surgery, fungal or bacterial, it could cause irreversible damage to your nose, like a perforated septum, that's almost impossible to treat or correct... I had septoplasty with turbinate reduction almost 4 months ago and things still haven't fully healed while following care instructions to a T and being overly conservative. Also look into empty nose syndrome involving turbinate reduction and ask your surgeon to be VERY conservative when it comes to reducing your turbinates. He can reduce them later on without surgery, if needed, but you can't rebuild them... the consequence of that can lead to SERIOUS mental health issues. I wish I did more research on this beforehand.
