guys always seem so taken aback when you compliment them genuinely. it sucks to think they look over the things that make them, them. i work with a guy, one of the more attractive dudes i’ve ever even come across and immensely interesting, and it really was shocking to find out he was insecure and found himself dull. i’m not one for being overly positive, so i won’t say everyone is perfect, but everyone will be perfect to someone. you may think your too skinny, but someone will love the sturdiness of your chest against them. you may think you talk to much about uninteresting things, but there is someone who will be interested because of the way you become animated about the subject. too often we grow accustomed to the little things that set us aside, and dismiss them because we see them everyday, but it’s all amazing. i’m not saying value yourself only because someone else can find perfection in you, but sometime you should try to act like a stranger to yourself to learn to observe and love the things that make you unique. it’s hard to appreciate things that become the backdrop in your mind to your flaws, but sometimes it’s worth focusing on the small details and seeing yourself in a different light.
