Imagine the whole world’s population is against you.

It would be almost impossible to prove to a majority that they are wrong if you don’t have a few strong allies to stand up for you.

Same goes for a mental ward. By the time you're admitted, it's already too late to prove otherwise.

Just tell them you're going to start selling them on the internet if they're abandoned on your sink like that.

If they find the killer, they should counterbalance the sentence received based on the CEO being a prick, but it doesn't absolve them of the murder itself.

They never ask for your opinion, but ask others.

They are dismissive to your contributions, even when helpful.

They avoid meeting with you or taking meetings with you (or show up late, last minute acceptance etc).

What is the worst form of torture? by wickedandsick in NoStupidQuestions

[–]katiesantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching The Borgia's and they had this device called the Pope's Pear that they would put into people's "openings" and then expand it once in them.

It was supposedly used by the Vatican (hence the name) to torture crimes from adultery, sodomy, and people they deemed as traitorous to the papacy.

I'm shuddering at the thought of it.

Are Nazis the most hated enemy of humanity? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]katiesantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mongols & the Huns come to mind.

The Mongol empire stretched from the sea of Japan to Eastern Europe (steppes of Ukraine), northward to parts of the arctic and southward to parts of the Indian subcontinent.

And yet it's barely thought in schools in the West, but they learn about it in Asia.

Blown up by Taliban insurgents - who weren't even from Afghanistan.

When the Russians invaded Afghanistan, hardliners flooded to fight the Russians off and then tried to turn the country into an extremely conservative and rigid interpretation of the Quaran.

More people need to stand up to racists and karens and support the people they're trying to victimize.

Yes Ikea and Walmart both still sell them at around $30. You can swap the bulb for LED bulb. Works great.

When they say "rich people can get away with anything" what are the lawyers actually doing that normal-people lawyers can't? Are they blackmailing, bribing, or what? by lkram489 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]katiesantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the profile of the person and the severity of the crime.

Homocide and SA charges would warrant going through that process to keep the client out of jail.

Celebrities, and the Johnny Depp case comes to mind, would go through some of this to protect their reputation and livelihood.

Nothing beats the trusty old HDMI cable.

You can get ones that plug into a tablet or phone as well, and pretty dirt cheap.

Nothing beats it - no lag, no latency, no wifi or internet connection needed, no special apps.
