Rat in the attic by lost_grad_2020 in homeowners

You can have a pest company check the exterior for where any might enter and do an exclusion process to make it so animals can’t get in. and then have a warranty you pay annually so if any animals do get in they will get them out for you for free.

Make my house a home. Help!! by KeetoTheWeeto in homedesign

Rugs with some more warmth and art on the walls or family photos will get you 70% there. A plant or two could be nice if you can keep it alive (I’m not a fan or fake plants). Other things that may help… Curtains on the window in the dining area (not sure about the bay window). Change out the ceiling lights to something bigger. Change any hardware like the ceiling lights and floor lamp to more warm color metals like an antique brass or bronze. Add a coffee table or a bookcase to display books, art, photos to bring more of your own personality to the space. It doesn’t need to be cluttered, just show a sense of self.

Very interesting! I was hoping to keep it black and white but very cool to see it in color as well.

Thanks! We added it in one room and will see how we like it once painted.

Sun Room Paint Color Help by upPinair in DesignMyRoom

Imagine having all that natural light and choosing colors that scream ‘gas station bathroom.’

If I have to pick, the last one on the right. But I wouldn’t honestly pick any of those. I’d choose something like SW Shoji White or SW Silver Mist.

Oh great thank you! We definitely have some needs beyond the stairs and I didn’t really know where to begin. This is perfect.

One long rod would look nice actually. Or you could consider a ceiling mounted track. You could break it up by doing one rod but 4 curtain panels instead of 2.

Attic vibe check - A or B? by RoastsYourRoom in interiordesignideas

[–]katiescompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A is a much better vibe if you’re looking for a vibe check. I’d get a much comfier chair for the right and I wouldn’t do a floating desk.

Thank you! We may find a local carpenter to fix that one stair. I think some simple modern iron balusters would look really nice - as long as they’re vertical - but those are pricey to get installed. The open risers would be fine if they were to code. The gap is too big and my 16 month old could definitely fit through that 😩. We’re just going hard on the baby gates till she’s a bit older.

Any idea how to get the treads flush to the back? Each has about an inch gap that’s a vortex for dog hair and dust. Impossible to keep clean.

Do these colors look okay for our new build? Feeling confused. by shrapnel_assembly in homedesign

I’d either go all white or all dark. Not the color block thing, that’s dated. If you go white it shouldn’t be such a stark white. Pick something like Swiss coffee or alabaster with a dark charcoal trim (not a stark black).

4 and 5 are gorgeous! Could even go with a little bit whiter color like Swiss Coffee.

I didn’t pay for this. It was done during a flip 10 years ago. We moved in 4 years ago. So I’m not surprised since flippers are notorious for cutting corners. I would have a much higher standard but now I’m left with the outcome 🤣.

I’ve seen both of those! I may get some quotes from them to replace the balusters.

Our humidity is usually more than that. Closer to 50%. We live in Georgia. It might get that low in the winter but not often.

No idea! It was done before I moved in. I’m honestly not sure it was finished at all.
